A little clarity would have gone a long way!
We stopped overnight in Suva on the way to Levuka, and had booked another couple of nights on return from Levuka to laze around and to do some shopping in Suva before returning to Nadi. The first night we used our Accorplus free night, the other two nights were booked by calling the hotel and making the booking directly. So we were staggered when we arrived to find that the restaurant and bars were not operating. No one mentioned that to us at all. Lami Bay is 15 minutes out of Suva so our decision to eat in and relax was effectively shot to pieces. While we were in Levuka, we decided we were not prepared to stay the extra two nights under these circumstances so on our return, we cancelled. Apart from the irritation that no one told us that we would not be able to eat or have a drink at the hotel, I don't understand why the restaurant/bar was closed anyway. The Novetel in Nadi is operating with a restaurant open, as are many hotels on the western side: ShangriLa, Marriott Momi Bay, Radisson ... Other hotels in Suva have their restaurants open. Why not Lami Bay? Please note that the service rating below is based on the restaurant being closed. The staff we dealt with were lovely.

Very good facility, very good service by staff. However, 1) PABX is worse - very noisy, reported it but no actions - all three phones I tried were all noisy (Rm222, Rm219 and 3)Kitchen. That's all otherwise I recommend this hotel to others.

Relaxing & Stress Free Atmosphere

Awesome place, clean rooms, friendly staff, good facilities and great experience. What more can you ask for? You forget that you're actually in an urban area with a busy road and the hustle & bustle of the city jus outside. Vinaka Novotel Lami!

The Novotel Suva was originally designed, built, and owned by an architect, Colin Philp, and is worth staying at for its unique design alone. It is in a lovely setting in the Bay of Islands and used to be known as the Tradewinds Hotel. This last trip we had five white herons fly across from an island in the Bay one evening to roost in the coconut palm outside our balcony. The staff and service are very good, the food is fine and the location excellent. What more can you want?

Accor took over the management of the hotel 11 years ago and I have been the manager for over 3 years now. I was thrilled to see your comments and especially about you seeing the white herons. When we entered the room it had hairs on the bed and it was so disgusting. Secondly, when I started ironing my clothes there was beg bugs in the ironing board and I did call room service and showed it to the guy who came to attend. The staff came and asked me where did I find it, and I told him after that he said "I'll take it to my house keeping manager and get back to you". I was expecting him to give me call and advice what are they doing about it as I had the fear of bugs breading in the bed as well. After that around 6pm we left for my brothers engagement and were back by 1pm. Neither they came back to us even upon enquiring again nor they changed our room. We were so tired and my husband fell asleep and I couldn't bother him. When I woke up in the morning I bed bug bites. The staffs seemed to be in lahlah land as no complaints mattered to them. In the second room when anyone is in the shower all the water leaked into the room. I have travelled the world but never came across such service. It was just pathetic. Being a Accor Plus member this was the least expected. Criminal service I would say.
