Not up to the Novotel Brand Experience

This property option was initially planned due to an overall positive impression of the Novotel hotels over the years. The price was reasonable and the hotel was slightly away from the Fiji capital (Suva) city centre. Sad to say, this property needs improvements at multiple levels, starting from staff interactions, review of customer touch points and experiences, details of the hotel comfort fundamentals. There was no phone (a local contact number was given which was not accessible on whatsapp, which meant one had to walk to the reception for every request), water in the room, which had to be purchased at a very high cost. The excuse mentioned for water was sustainability but other hotels at similar level seemed to provide at least water in glass bottles. This property was also undergoing renovation at the time, which led to other inconveniences. The details of our experience were outlined in detail, shared as part of feedback and it was good to see a response from the leader about reviewing them further. Overall, this did hurt my impression of the generally great Novotel brand. The view from the room of the lake and price point seemed to be the only comparative positives overall.

Bula tojoepen, once again thank you for staying with us. Whilst we improve the hotel and regrettably it didn't live up to your expectation we are still hopeful to be able to welcome you back on day.

Pros: The staff are really friendly The food is very tasty The setting is lovely The ice coffee and iced chocolate were great. Cons: The hotel is looking tired. Looks like there have been many attempts to paint skirtings and walls. There are dents in some walls around the corridors. More importantly however, there were some safety measures that were needed: In our unit 215 there was uneven tiling between the bedroom and bathroom. Can easily knock your toes if not careful, especially at night. We put a small towel over the area to protect our feet. There are no handrails in places for people with mobility needs, such as going into the dining area where I had to go over to the bar to support myself going down the steps, or going from the indoor dining area to the outdoor dining area by the water where there were two steps. I really recommend handrails, which are more important than aesthetics. Also there were no handrails for one part of the stairs going up to the upstairs floor.

Modern ambiance, with relaxed feel. Very accomodating staff, and just as Friendly as all people in Fiji seem to be ! The staff helped with a locked piece of luggage, and a power jump to the auto ! The Breakfast & Coffee were well prepared ! Would definitely return !

Location very good. In tutta la zona e' l'unico che ha stanze affacciate sul mare con possibilita' di un tuffo ristoratore in piscina. L'accoglienza molto buona. Quando si viaggia con un bimbo piccolo anche il dettaglio piu' insignificante e' importante. Senza eccessi ma misurato in ogni prestazione sicuramente da consigliare per un piacevole week -end
