This so-called 5 star hotel is actually a typical Indian 4 star hotel with 3 star service. The receptionists are particularly bad and the management is chaotic to the point one wonders if they are even aware of what their job description entails (they don't have a duty manager on the property and the general manager can be reached by email as he probably resides in a different metro). The conditions of my reservation were not respected. It says black on white on my pre-paid reservation that I am entitled to breakfast buffets at only 549 inr. This is a special offer and what prompted me to book this hotel in the first place but two receptionists were adamant that I should have paid for these breakfasts when I made the booking. On my first stay which was a 5 night stay (this was my second stay in a period of 12 days) the receptionist did not alert me to the fact my booking includes 25% off on all food and soft beverages. She could not have missed it because it is written in bold font in my booking confirmation. I had arrived at night tired after a long flight so I forgot completely about the 25% discount. She offered me a 10% discount on breakfasts and stressed that this is only valid if I pay for them during the check in process. These dishonest tactics is not what one expects in a 5 star property. On the bright side the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast spread is extensive but none of the items stand out. The dinner buffet (I had veg) was very tasty (much better than breakfast).

Dear Novotel management team , I am a crew and I have bee given allocation in this hotel, I really appreciate your reception and housekeeping staff but when I went for dinner I noticed people don’t listen to you after you personally going and ask for food refill they don’t want to help because either they are busy or they treat us that our company is paying for us , I had approached a chef to help me with garlic naan he informed me to inform the first counter , when u went there the employee told me to wait as he is busy with order I spoke to a lady her name is shiny she called his manager arvin but he saw and left . I usually order room service but that day I didn’t because I had time and wanted to walk around the hotel . This is not the way we wanted to be treated .

I have to start by saying that the breakfast, ambience, staff and service were wonderful. My children aged 13 and 10 were thoroughly happy with the games they had access to in the lobby and on the building premises. The ladies at the restaurant below were welcoming, warm and accommodating. The a la carte could have been better. I had booked 2 rooms for my stay and both rooms could not have been more different - the one my father stayed in was clean and neat, while the one we stayed in, left a lot of room for improvement. The doors and walls in the washroom were dirty. How do you hang your towel or clothes when the walls are not clean? The door jamb had some sticky substance around it that I managed to land my hands on. The couch on the room also looked like it could have used a good clean. There was a paper stub from the previous occupant regarding laundry in the cupboard. I feel like I paid way too much for what I received and I feel like I could have been staying elsewhere for less than 14,000 inr. The reason we paid so much was to be able to come back to a clean room after a very long travel. The rooms are also on the smaller side which would have been okay had it been clean. I would have loved to talk to Mr. Kurup about this. We are a middle class family, but when we vacation we put all our savings into getting good rooms so that we have a vacation vibe throughout and a clean place to come back to. I feel like we’ve lost something on this one.
