ibis Hamilton Tainui 3,5 stelle

What an awesome stay at Ibis Hamilton. I have stayed at a few Ibis hotels around the world over the years but this one is unlike the others. It has a very modern and fresh feel and firstly I was greeted at the door by the friendliest valet parking team youll ever meet. They were thoughtful and considerate with their questions and it was a real pleasure to have a genuine conversation and that was before I'd even checked in! Reception were quite friendly as well and I was checked in in no time having been given all the info I would need about how to get to my room and the restaurant. Note reception is on 1st floor but there are lifts available. The room was a king and it was quite spacious compared to Ibis hotels of old and would comfortably fit 2 people and their luggage with room to move around. The bathroom was not the usual 'cabin' but a nice bathroom with a normal shower. They had nice thick towels and hand towels which was very nice. The bathroom mirror also had a backlight which helped to see what you were doing. Shower had decent pressure too. The bed was medium soft and comfortable, slept like a log. Pillows comfy too. The air con was one of the better ones Ive had a hotel. You could control the temp up or down as far as you wanted and it would auto adjust. You could also control fan speed or leave on auto as I did. The fan is much quieter than other hotels so it doesnt disturb your sleep. It also maintains a consistent temp. They have two sets of blinds, one is semi transparent and the other blackout which helps when sleeping. They have thought of other things like plugs and usb ports by each bedside, good beside lamps and low wall lighting all controlled separately from bedside. You can even press the top of the alarm clock to turn off the display so the light doesnt shine at night. Tea and coffee kettle supplied and small fridge. Iron and board complete the amenities. There is a drawer as well for items plus plenty of hangers for clothes and a spare pillow if needed. Hotel location is central which is handy. Parking was $40 valet and my car was waiting for me in the morning as planned. I didnt have time for breakfast so cant comment on restaurant. Overall a thoroughly pleasant stay and will stay again next time I'm in Hamilton.

Abbiamo scelto questa struttura in quanto conosciamo lo standard ibis e perché in centro. Diciamo che le camere vanno bene per un breve soggiorno ma sono un po' vecchie, il bagno è piccolo e anche questo necessiterebbe di una ristrutturazione, tutto sommato siamo stati bene, la colazione era anche abbastanza ricca e buona.

Personale gentile e professionale, ci hanno persino posteggiato l'auto. La camera era ottima e l'hotel è in una comoda posizione della città! Il punto forte della struttura: un magnifico buffet x colazione!!!

Visitando la Nuova Zelanda in macchina abbiamo fatto tappa in parecchi Ibis; questo a mio parere è il migliore visitato nell'isola nord. Ovviamente lo standard è quello di questa catena: camere pulite ed essenziali, abbastanza spaziose. Il punto forte era il buffet della colazione: molto abbondante la scelta (classica, continentale e "salutista") e la qualità delle pietanze proposte; tre varietà di miele Hanuka, frutta, saluti e formaggi che sembravano freschi, dolci e brioches eccellenti. La reception al primo piano, che con il check out e i bagagli al seguito era un po' scomoda. Unica nota di demerito: il bollitore fornito nella stanza all'interno era ricoperto di una muffetta nerastra davvero sospetta.

Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo, colazione un po' cara, ma abbondante. Posizione centrale e comoda per cenare in uno dei numerosi ristoranti intorno. Manca un fitness center interno. Parcheggio caro e gestito dal servizio dell'hotel (in pratica si devono consegnare auto e chiavi e richiedere ad ogni necessità dell'auto).
