The room is very clean and upgraded. The breakfast is excellent and has a lot of varieties. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I enjoy the room with a sea and swimming pool view. Overall peaceful and relaxing palace. Thank you for the management. Thanks to Dewi, Iwan, Kadek, and Rudy for humble and great customer service.

The hotel location is very strategic and close to several entertainment facilities and locations, the quality of the food is quite good, however housekeeping needs to be improved, especially with regard to toiletries such as toothbrushes and towels. Another thing that requires attention is when there is maintenance that uses volatile materials and hazardous materials such as thinner so that the exhaust system is isolated at the location where repairs are being carried out

I gave the hotel 5 stars because of the additonal benefits they provide as a Platinum ALL member. The suite room was relatively huge. The fruit platter and cookies were simple but thoughtful. The complimentary breakfast was marvellous. I enjoyed the local dishes like kaldu ayam, tong seng and lontong. I also had avocado juice as the welcome drink. However I was disappointed that the room only has the local version of power points. I would expect 5 star hotels to have international power point adaptors installed in the rooms, at least one at the working desk. I went down to the reception to borrow an adaptor but the receptionist said they ran out of adaptors which means I wasn't the only local guest with no local charger or adaptor. I implore the hotel management to look into this matter seriously.

It was worst stay in my Accor-member history. 1. Room is dirty - Old hotel, proper renovation is needed but most are not in rightful condition. It seems few of their rooms are not used for long time. I stayed through 2 continuous booking, when I assigned to my room on 2nd booking it has drainage issue. I immediately request for room change. Drainage has no issue but I found few ants on the bed table and toilet bowl flushing was very weak. 2. Service - On my check-in, they mentioned to check my welcome drink through ALL app. But I realized there is no banner for my welcome drink redemption. I asked back it is not shown so issue physical voucher. But they made me to wait for 20mins keep looking for managers asking A-Z.... In the end they issue the physical voucher and talking to each other there was internal notice to issue physical voucher which is totally opposite they mentioned in front of me. (But I understand Bahasa...) They didn't even offer me upgrade as Platinum benefit, but which I understand if there is no available room. But.... the hotel is not so crowded whole day, still quite suspicious whether they really have the room type. The Bar receptionist (one guy and one lady bartender) were not polite at all when they receive order for my welcome voucher. I strongly recomment Accor marketing team to review this hotel's management and rather take out Accor name from this hotel. Not proper to hold Accor's name.

For me and my fam, Novotel Balikpapan still shown their best hospitality in Balikpapan. We prefer to stay here than other hotel. Novo has spacious bedroom and various breakfast choice, also an awesome pool. Glad to be back to Novotel Balikpapan to spend the weekend with our loved ones.
