❌ Avoid! Paid for a Suite, got "Self-Service" & Management MIA

If you are planning to book a Suite at Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich expecting luxury service, think twice. As a loyal Accor member, this was hands down the worst Sofitel experience I have had in years. 1. "Self-Service" Experience We paid cash for a Suite, yet we were left waiting for 1.5 hours because the room wasn't ready, not until 5:15 p.m. The worst part? No one informed us about the progress. We had to proactively ask and chase staff just to give an update and swipe us up to the lounge. There is zero proactive service here. 2. Unprofessional Lounge Staff (Lee Li) When we got to the lounge, the staff member Lee Li was incredibly dismissive. He handed us without a word about breakfast hours, lounge benefits (Happy Hour), or gym location. It felt like he just wanted to get rid of us. Zero SOP adherence. No compensation for such "late" check-in. 3. Duty Manager "Missing in Action" (Duty Manager Xu or EVE) When things go wrong, you expect management to step in. However, the Duty Manager, Eve (Manager Xu), decided to play "hide and seek." She was informed of our 1.5-hour wait and distress but chose not to appear or contact us until we demanded to speak to a supervisor. A manager who hides from guests instead of solving problems is a clear sign of poor hotel leadership. Later, she offered a late check-out for compensation (again, Platinum status entitles this), nothing of meaning and value is offered as a solution. Fullstop. 12/31 - 01/02, Sofitel Artist Suite 100m^2, Guest Sim. Verdict: Old hardware is forgivable, but arrogant service and negligent management are not. Do not stay here if you value your time and mood. Not Recommended.

I stayed in the premuim room (45 sqm). Location is close fo the city centre and not too far from public transport. Higher floor is better and some could see the Canton Tower. There are lots of food options nearby. Services provided by the hotel is good as well, e.g. wifi in the room, clothes cleaning, swimming pool. And I enjoyed the spa (on additional cost). Shout out to Kayla Bin for her excellent service.

Stay at hotel in Novamber 2025, look for SPA at 7th floor. It was excellent. I go to massage to Lily, she was best. I have good relax. I recomend her for perfect massage.
