We stayed for one night to break a journey. The hotel is located just a 10 minute walk from the old town centre. On arrival we were told hotel parking was only for those with mobility issues so had to use the public parking adjacent - just €7 for the night. Check in went well and the room was pleasant - we had Privilege Plus room which was quite large but lacked a sofa and other comforts. We went to the bar for a drink late afternoon but only got served after alerting reception (which was in eyesight of the bar). Slept well. Breakfast was okay. Happy with the stay but staff could be friendlier.

We don't usually book chain hotels but there didn't seem to be a lot of hotels on offer in Perigueux. We found this Mercure to be absolutely fine, once we had moved a few bits of furniture around the room so we could actually walk around the bed. The room was very spacious and had a small balcony overlooking the Place (the step up could have done with a grabhandle on the doorframe for safety). There was no window which was odd, only the balcony which did not provide much natural light. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The hotel is perfectly positioned for tourists, being equidistant between the town and the old Roman ruins. Just up the hill there is a large Monoprix for room stocking purposes. We would certainly stay here again if we are ever in the neighbourhood.

We stayed here for 2 nights and held our AGM for our car club (Jaguar Enthusiasts Club South West France Aquitaine) All the staff were very helpful and especially Pauline who organised the meeting room and room bookings for members. Nothing was too much trouble and all or our needs both prior and during our stay were catered for swifltly and efficiently. Rooms are modern and bright and have been refurbished. We will definitely return.

A short walk to the center, very helpful staff. They even have a car park that is reasonably priced.
