Our 8th time, so clearly we like it, the service is great, the staff are super friendly, remember your name and try very hard to do all that they can to help.. A few comments about the whole resort. The restaurants are nice, but the food is very similar. Solis food is very similar to the Waitui, and in reality it probably comes from the same restaurant, we didn't try the Bazaar as it is very much a family restaurant and not for us anymore. The Republik nightclub is good, but it really lacks a place you can just go and get a lighter meal and maybe a cold beer. Given a lot of the customers are Kiwi's and Aussies, it was certainly something that was discussed by many around the pool area. We stayed in the Waitui Club again and it is great, Annie in particular is amazing, always helpful and just great. A real asset. I would suggest a few things, the first would be keep the music at a quieter level, some days it was very very quiet and some days it was to the point that people left, just a balance. It was also very odd that every time you had to produce your Accor card, surely this could be tagged to your room, it was just annoying as they had to wander off with your phone to record the number.. and THE CHAIRS in the Waitui club bar (the old church), are just the most uncomfortable about.. People were laughing as to how bad they were, the place used to be great to meet people around the pool, at high tables but the new layout is not at all good for this and it used to be a key reason for us visiting, it would be easy to put in more comfortable chairs around the bar, have high tables and put back the tables for breakfast and lunch around the pool and bring back that more friendly vibe.. Adding on way more cabana's at the beach has made it much less special for sure.. Waitui Plus seems to be a thing, but it was very hard to find out what it was actually about, and we met some people who were 'upgraded' and had no idea what the difference was.. All in all it is a great place, but they should listen more to their market, provide a better range of food, re-instate the Waitui to be more friendly and not as intimate as it used to be, and in reality they don't have the rooms to support the bigger club anyway, and by having day passes it also makes it just part of the whole hotel. They should also very much watch their alcohol sales in the pool, people get too drunk and this is not pleasant when you are trying to have a relaxing snooze by the pool.. It still is great, but just needs a little tweak to return to its true place in Fiji..

Me and my friend booked one week at the Sofitel Denaru after briefly visiting for breakfast last year. We had high hopes for this stay as the pool looked beautiful and the breakfast buffet appeared to be a good spread. However, we were both very disappointed and let down for numerous reasons: 1: BUG PROBLEM IN THE ROOM- we alerted reception and house keeping multiple times that there were over 15 bugs that we had killed in a few days in our room. Everytime we thought the room was clear ( we sprayed Bushman’s, Aerosol and Mortein everywhere) we would discover more bugs in our bathroom, in the cupboards and even near our luggage. We told the house manager this may be due to a faulty door which was letting bugs through underneath and their reply was ‘we’ll give you mortein and try fix the mechanics after you check out’. Furthermore, we also had some sort of bed bugs as evidenced by the photos with multiple bites. Very disappointed at this lack of care which made our stay very uncomfortable - I am usually sad to check out of a nice resort however I have never been more relieved to move out of a hotel than this time. 2: EXORBITANT PRICES FOR MINIMAL RETURN. We went to multiple hotels for dinner, the port and the Sofitel dinner and found that the Sofitel was most expensive place on the island. Granted, it was a buffet we paid $110, $85 and $75 FJD per person for a dinner buffet on different nights, where drinks were not even included (not even non -alcoholic drinks). On one occasion we had dinner at the Solis restaurant (food was great) but didn’t get told we’d be charged $10 for just asking for ‘still water’. Furthermore, we paid a reasonable amount for our rooms which granted us access to an oversaturated pool with very minimal beach access. We found that as we were two young travellers, many of the waiters or hosts did not bother to provide the same level of service as they did to families or older couples (who may have appeared to provide more money to the hotel). One morning at the breakfast buffet we waited 40 minutes for a drink we ordered to come out and saw the table next to us get their drink in 5 minutes of sitting down. This is NOT the place for anyone wanting to enjoy a luxury stay unless you want to pay $220 FJD a day to have access to the adult beach club and some decent treatment. 3: WIFI ISSUES: this was really disappointing, you’d think at a 5 star hotel with so many good reviews, internet connectivity would not be an issue. We spent on average 10 minutes to load a webpage on safari, sometimes more. In saying all this, the twice a day room turnover was nice, and we met a lovely receptionist (Virsila) who was one of the few reasons for getting even two stars. Having stayed at numerous other Sofitels across the globe (incl. Thailand, Melbourne etc) this Sofitel was certainly a let down in terms of getting your moneys worth for a so called ‘luxury’ stay. Last year we stayed at Toka Toka (3 star resort) and felt that this stay may as well have been equivalent (aside from the buffet breakfast) and at least their rooms had no bugs (exact same time of the year). Very disappointed.

We stayed at this property for 7 days to celebrate our anniversary and we are so happy we choose this lovely property. The most memorable thing about the property are the views and their staff. The views were simply stunning and resort is very peaceful and ideal for relaxing. The rooms are spacious and all of them have a view of the sea. We stayed in a beach villa first and in an overwater sunset pool villa for the remainder of our stay. The staff are simply amazing; the service from the time of reaching out to them for the booking till we checked out was top notch.

The Sofitel resort and spa hotel is amazing , thanks to Joanne travel goals who booked our 6 week holiday. Joanne has been organising our holidays since last year and I can’t fault her. She even messages us to make sure we are happy with each hotel. She arranged Hong Kong, Perth brisbane, cairns , Auckland .Fiji and last but not least Bangkok . It’s been fantastic thanks Joanne and travel goals.

We went for a getaway, my sister, her 2 young children and myself. We stayed for 7 nights in a luxury family room. Unfortunately we were messed around the first night and had to spend the night in a smaller room, but were well looked after, after that. Pool was amazing, plenty of activities for adults and kids. Spa was relaxing, gym was big enough to use machines with no wait and the kids Beach Club was incredible. Great food eatten at all restaurants. Highly recommend and would love to go back soon
