Welcoming hotel, even with a dog! Stayed here as an overnight stop during a long road trip and the staff was so very welcoming! The bedroom was very spacious and comfortable, however not very sound proof. Unfortunately corridor traffic was the only issue we had, as the puppy was quite sensitive to this

If one is looking to tick as many boxes as possible to make a perfect holiday, the Mercure Troyes Centre comes pretty close. Troyes is a delightful medieval city with numerous Points of Interest (all within 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel) with a centrally located Tourist Information Centre run by extremely helpful staff. It is very clean, on the flat, and with several highly respected shops. We have stayed in the Mercure group of hotels previously in France, so the high quality that we found was to be expected. I did have one concern prior to arrival – that of the underground car park, since I had encountered issues in other towns/cities where the parking had left its mark (literally) on my vehicle. However, at the Mercure Troyes Centre this turned out to be a complete non-issue. The car park door code had previously been e-mailed to me and the entry was very smooth and straightforward. The only limitation, which I was made aware of in advance, was the height restriction of 1.90 m. If one had several cases to unload, one could either park briefly outside the car park entrance in rue Camille Claudel and then obtain a trolley from reception before driving into the car park, or park one’s car with luggage and subsequently wheel the loaded trolley from the car park. We decided on option (1) but equally other people chose option (2). The pedestrian access from the car park to the hotel is via a series of steps (unfortunately no lift), but luggage transfer was very simple and easy in the end. Although the address of the hotel is stated as rue des Bas Trevois, the entrance to both the car park and hotel entrance is via rue Camille Claudel. The underground car park rate was €12 per night, which was added to the room rate, rather than having to pay separately in an underground car park meter. The entire hotel ambience was extremely modern throughout and reception was well run during our 3-day stay thanks to Carla, Melodie & Louis. Each room was provided with a water jug which one could fill up from the water dispenser in the corridor, where one could choose between ice-cold, sparkling or tap water. The breakfast area weas an amazing spread of both continental/cooked options all laid out in the central bar area. One of the criteria for visiting Troyes was to sample the crêperies in the city – in this respect we were not disappointed – there were at least three excellent establishments, all within 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel. The drive from Coquelles took exactly 4-hrs, but we stopped off half-way at the Auchan hypermarché at Fayet, near St.Quentin, for both food and fuel - an excellent decision.

Fantastic Friendly Comfortable Clean Hotel in a Wonderful Location

Friendly greeting from reception who provided us with a room card so as to use to open the entry barrier to the car park. The foyer was open plan with a bar, seating and tables and chairs for breakfast. The same bar area was used for breakfast in the morning. The hotel is in walking distant to the centre of town. The receptionist provided us with a map showing a walk around the old town. There is a couple of restaurants near to the hotel including an Hippopotamus restaurant which appeared to be busy. We walked into town to the bars and restaurants there. Beautiful town where you can follow a walk of bronze triangular plaques with a knight engraved on them place on the roads and paths. The feel of the town was like being back in medieval times. The hotel room was very large and clean. A bottle of Apple juice along with water were in the room. Good shower in the morning. Breakfast was good and service extremely friendly and helpful.

Good hotel in centre. Nice big room but no air con. They only do breakfast which is a bit strange for a Mercure. Good choice of breakfast
