We stayed here 2 nights whilst visiting family. The staff are brilliant, so welcoming and friendly. We were checked in by Pam who was lovely, she explained the restaurant times etc. What a lovely welcome!! Bear in mind this is a budget hotel, the room was basic but clean and did the job. If you want a bed for your head, this is perfectly fine. Great location with easy access to/from the M18/M1.

If your on holiday or just passing through the ibis hotel Rotherham m18 is the place for you.

Why not give the ibis hotel Rotherham m18 a try we did and we were not disappointed. if you need a good night's sleep good food and fuel and with morrisons on your door step its the place for you. The hotel staff are fantastic from the cleaners to the desk staff.

I booked three rooms for a one night stay, the lady behind the desk had me list all who were to stay in which room, and refused to give me the keys to the rooms I had paid for, because the individuals hadn’t arrived yet and this would make the fire register incorrect, she promised that someone would be on the desk all night and so to check the final arrivals in when we came back to the hotel. So we came back to the hotel and the next receptionist at 2am refused to let us stay because we missed check in. After some back and forth she allowed us to check in the last room then she held us questioning how many of us there was, and again who was staying in which room. I’ve never experienced staff who didn’t want their guests like at this hotel. From the moment I walked in having booked three rooms I felt unwelcome and that I was under interrogation. Not what you want at all. Jo the night receptionist was not nice and I’m unsure of the other nasty lady’s name.

Worst hotel ever.

Bedroom was dirty and the bathroom was even worse and 15 years out of date, the staircase area was even worse, hadn’t been cleaned in months. Breakfast was £12 and the worst breakfast I’ve ever eaten at a hotel, no choice at all and all done with cheap food, Bar was terrible, didn’t even have lemonade, absolutely no choice of drinks. Woman running it was very grumpy, and not friendly, I understand she’s probably had a long shift, but when people have driven after work to get there on a Friday evening, they want a drink and a friendly reception and bar person.

The last time we stayed here was over eight years ago, so was surprised how nice the reception area was and how much better the restaurant looked. Still basic tables and chairs, but brighter. We checked in and as we booked two nights, but one direct with the hotel and the other with Booking.com it caused a bit of a problem. The receptionist soon sorted us with a room for the two nights and put us on floor three. Saturday night at 9.45 a call came through on the mobile asking when we would be checking in. We told her that we were already checked in, but she asked if we could go down to reception to pay. My husband did and told her he expected to pay on leaving the next day, as he hadn’t heard from the girl who checked us in. She made him feel as though he was going to do a runner and was a bit abrupt, not as friendly as the one who checked us in. Our room was clean, bathroom clean, but it did have a faint smell from the sink. We think this must be one of the refurbished rooms, after reading comments on how some are. It can be a bit noisy with the window open and we did have guest on our floor talking outside in the corridor for a bit. Breakfast was continental or hot, the croissants were hard and dry, so not worth having. The hot food never ran out and a good choice, eggs done on order. The pub next door is closed for refurbishment and will be open on the 7th June. Morrisons is just a short walk away. All the staff was friendly and helpful, apart from the person on Saturday night who was a bit abrupt about us paying. It looks like there was a miscommunication from the one who checked us in to the one on Saturday night.
