From check-in to check-out, the customer service we exceeded all expectations. We arrived at 1:30 pm and were able to check in immediately. The front desk staff and manager greeted us. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast at the hotel served by the charismatic Miguel. Valet parking was very efficient. The hotel is located in a great area for shopping and eating. We are looking forward to a return trip to the Sofitel!

Hotel was clean, classy and had much to offer would definitely stay again and recommend!! There is so much to do in the area between rittenhouse square and the many restaurants and bars that are close by!!

Starting to Feel Old and Run Down

Sofitel, has been a favorite place for me to stay since my 20s. I have enjoyed the large rooms, beautiful hallways and thoughtful staff. This last visit to Philly the hotel felt old and run down. The carpets in the hallways are coming up so are no longer smooth. The staff felt exhausted and disconnected. I am sad to give this review as I think of the Sofitel as one of the best hotels; but alas it seems unable to sustain what makes it unique and beautiful.

Enjoed our stay at the hotel and the city of Philadelphia! Did the hop on hop off bus, and lots of walking. We went back to hotel for a little rest before going to dinner at Devon's Seafood Restaurant where dinner was very good. Always enjoy the Sofitel hotel stays.

Great Location but......

We recently stayed at the Sofitel Philadelphia at Rittenhouse Square for our anniversary. We have stayed at this Sofitel a few time before have been quite pleased. However, this trip left a lot to be desired. Although it is in a prime location, we will not be returning. The mattress should have been replaced years ago, the bath towels were torn and tattered. We valeted our vehicle and when it was time to check out, we called 30 minutes before we headed downstairs to request the vehicle. It ultimately took an addition 52 minutes to obtain our vehicle. Ultimately, the service and the hotel itself during this trip just was not what we were accustomed to and not worth the money.

Wonderful Stay at Philadelphia Sofitel

From beginning to end, I enjoyed a seamless 5-night stay at the Sofitel in Philadelphia. The customer service was consistently professional and accommodating. Check-in was seamless and welcoming, housekeeping was superlative, the room was well-appointed, and even those who worked in the lounge/bar area were hospitable and attentive. I will definitely be back.

As a frequent guest for many years I become more and more disappointed. The Sofitel use to be an impeccable experience all across the check list. The service is okay thanks to a few great staff members. The rooms on the other hands have not met my standards of cleanliness. I’ve found gum on chairs, Satan wrap in smoke detectors, previous guest belonging one of which was a dirty sock. I’m naturally a tidy person so upon arrival I do my own cleaning just to make the space my own. I usually stay on business for a week or two. I was very disappointed at how much dust & dirt I find at check in during what’s supposed to be a double cleaning. House keeping should really be up to par especially during a pandemic but it seems service isn’t lacking & The Sofitel is going downhill. I’ve traveled to the Sofitel 3 months in a row only to find the same if not more disappointment in the presentation of the rooms. I don’t think I’ll be returning . I just can’t get with uncleanliness & lazy staff. Valet Parking stag... some are great with excellent customer service & on the other hand, some are down right a poor representation of the company. Really takes away from the experience.

Hotel Sofitel in Philadelphia is my favorite hotel. A great staff, attention to detail, and obviously very careful in this era of covid. Rooms are spacious. Location is wihtin walking distance of several restaurants and shopping. One you stay, you will want to come back again.

COVID Stay at Sofitel, Philadelphia

Always stay at Sofitel when I am back in my hometown. I understand COVID and all the headaches that have been presented to the Hospitality industry. However, having spotty Wifi, no food or beverage at the hotel was quite disappointing. If that is the case, then your daily rate needs to be lower.

Upon arrival at your hotel I was immediately confronted with the "lock-down" procedures outside the location. After I was permitted to enter to check in I then entered an empty lobby occupied by one other guest who then REMOVED THEIR MASK AND APPROACHED ME - in spite of your plexiglass shields and facial temperature checks this one person ruined my stay BEFORE check in And then upon entering my room - in what I USED to think was one of the premier hotels in Philadelphia the ceiling above the bed had a water leak that was ATTEMPTED to be repaired but was unsuccessful - since it still LEAKED. I was extremely embarrassed and will stay at Motel 6 before I ever go back to the Sofitel but I WILL get a Covid test as a result of my encounter!

The hotel was chic, modern and well decorated. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful and we even got upgraded to a high room on the top floor. We really appreciated that. The room was gorgeous and spacious. The bed was super soft. We had a great nights sleep. The only thing I would have liked were softer towels. They were clean but hard and rough. Everything else was perfect

Inspire of getting a reasonable weeknight room rate and an upgraded corner room, the hotel restaurant and bar were closed during my stay due to low occupancy during Covid-19, There was no coffee service in the lobby, nor bathrobes in the room, and the pillows on the bed did not match. The room was quiet and clean. Nothing exceptional or memorable to recommend returning to this property.

Overall the staff was friendly and professional. Only thing negative is since ice machines are out of service due to Covid related measures, guest are instructed to go to the front desk for ice. Which is fine except for the fact the front desk is closed during the overnight hours.

The staff is amazing and so accommodating- they went out of their way to bring weights to our room so we could workout since the gym was closed- and every other request from dinner suggestions to extra towels was handled so quickly with a smile. Will stay again and totally recommend this location if staying downtown.

The Sofitel Philadelphia is probably my favorite place to stay in Philadelphia. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are well-decorated, comfortable and clean. The Wifi is strong, the gym is good and the restaurant food is very good. There is complimentary coffee and either fruit or pastries in the morning. And its in a great location

I was promised a Nespresso machine and never got one after 3 followup (2 at desk,1 call). The telephone was dead in the room, the darkening shades when pulled in bedroom had big holes in the top of them. No choice of light brightness in bathroom or in suite -blaring bright light only. Campared to the Sofitel in DC, this Sofitel is severely lacking! Needs updating. The concierge Orlando the best part of the stay- very helpful and followed up unlike the rest of the staff!

We had a large, quiet, well appointed clean and comfortable room. My only issue with this stay was the complicated on-line check in process, which I finally gave up on. The bellmen, front desk and valet service was excellent.

I was very impressed by the size of the room and the high end finishes - it was nicer, more comfortable than any room I have stayed in in the US or Europe. I have already recommended the hotel to several friends who will traveling to Philadelphia.

My husband and I stayed 1 night and wished we could have stayed longer, we stayed on the 10 th floor and our room was better then the pictures, it was very clean and quiet, the bed was a little softer than we like but still comfortable, we will definitely be back, the hotel staff was very nice and accommodating

We had a good time! 2 Challenges. First when checking in our room we were suppose to have 2 comp beverages and said she could not find it on the reservation and I didn't include it on the print out. The second one was the water for bath and shower was just barely warm. Went down afterwards to get dinner and went to front desk and they said they would take care of it. When we came back someone had come by but you still had to let the water run for 5 to 10 min's for it to start getting warm to take a bath! Should never happen in a hotel like that!
