Overall my wife and I were pleased with this hotel and would stay again. Desk staff were polite and helpful. Room was small but clean. Quiet. Comfortable bed; not too hard or soft. Blackout curtains if you don't want early sunlight. Breakfast offerings were plentiful and very good. The breakfast room was spacious and clean. Shuttle from hotel to terminal operates every half hour and only takes a few minutes. Also the Au Bureau sports bar a short walk down the street was a good option for lunch or dinner. A word about the tram service from downtown with a stop in front of the hotel: The tram does stop in front of the hotel. However, there is no stop on that tram line at the main train station downtown. To link up with the tram we had to buy a bus/tram ticket in the train station, hike several blocks to a bus stop that was not simple to locate, ride on a crowded bus with our luggage for 15 minutes, then locate the tram stop once let off by the bus. Yes, we survived, and there are worse things to deal with. But just saying it's not quite the effortless tram ride from train station to hotel the ads imply. Dwight Allen

We stayed in this hotel sue to its close proximity to the airport and its free shuttle service. It has a tram stop just in front that allows you to get to downtown Biordeaux in about 30 minutes (for €1.30). In fact we took the tram to get to the hotel from the train station. This is typical airport hotel. Our room was quite small and in need of sprucing up. The bed was comfortable. There was no outside or hall noise. The bathroom was fine although the tub had only a glass panel so there was water spraying on the floor during our showers. The staff was very busy and therefor there were some wait times. Breakfast was very good and was available very early. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the meal was very good. Our wake up call was right on time and our airport shuttle departed on schedule as well - it took about 5 minutes to get the airport! Overall if you are looking for a hotel near the Bordeaux airport we would recomment this one.

Come on IBIS you need to spend some money at this hotel. and on staff. We stayed for one night nefore an early flight. Checked in and I had already read the reviews and one stuck in my mind about room 208 from February this year. The unfriendly receptionist allocated me room 208. I said to her "Oh no, I hope you've cleaned it up since it's bad review.". The curt reply was there was nothing wrong with the room. We got in the lift which was "tired" at best. Got out on the 2nd floor to see loads of sheets and some trays on the floor outside rooms but the carpet you could see was stained and dirty looking along with the walls. Room 208 lived up to it's reputation from 02/24, smelt, filthy carpet so back to reception. Got offered another room, 210. Same thing, stained carpet, chipped paintwork really tired looking. Back to reception and saw the room manager. I asked if he would refund us as I found two rooms dirty, the whole hotel looked tired and I wanted to go to the Mercure just up the road. A firm "NO refunds" was the reply even though I wanted to go to another hotel within the group. He told me they had 4 rooms that had been refurbished and that he would find me a solution. 3rd try was slightly better, clean, newer carpet and no smell of damp. Only a bit of paint missing off walls, The door locks had been changed, however the previous holes in the wall and door had not been filled and painted. Missing mastic round the bath, mirror old at the bottom and silvering was missing. Skirting board not finished properly. The toilet cistern cover was cracked and had a burn from a cigarette that had been left on it. The inside of the bathroom door needed painting. Could hear the planes. Fed up now we decided to stay as no refund was possible. I went to the bar and was served by a really nice friendly receptionist, however the seats were uncomfortable and the bar stools. Breakfast was ok but that too looked grubby, only two tables had not been used and it took the guy 25 minutes before he wiped them all down with the same cloth. None of the staff said hello as they passed you by. The ouside looked well kept apart from the cigarette ashtray just outside the entrance which didn't look as if it had been emptied in a month or two. The whole place needs cleaning up, refurbishing and most of the staff training in how to treat gusets. Shame it's in a great location.

The experience in this hotel was underwhelming. The rooms were old as were the bed and mattresses. In the bathroom a lot of tiles were broken and it was hard to shower, due to a broken showerhead. At breakfast my shoes stuck to the floor, however the breakfast buffet was good.

Acceptable if you don’t want to eat.

The hotel itself is ok. The reception staff were helpful and friendly. The room was ok. Clean but scruffy and indeed of deep cleaning and upgrading. The beds were clean and comfortable. The curtains were scruffy with holes. The price was way too high for standard of accommodation. The dining experience was DREADFUL. The chef was continually scratching his scalp, beard, neck, face and nose all whilst cooking and serving out and others food. He did not wash his hands once. Food hygiene was non existent. When we talked to the “senior” waiter, who thought our issue was very amusing, nothing changed. Luckily this chef did not serve breakfast on the next morning. But we saw him arrive for work, still scratching himself. Unacceptable. I definitely would NOT recommend this hotel if you want to eat there.
