Excellent stay in August 2024 for the Olympics

We had an excellent stay at the Novotel Paris Rueil Malmaison during the Olympics. I had booked a year in advance and when we arrived we were pleased to hear they had upgraded our room. We had a two room suite which worked great for our family of 4 (two children ages 10 and 13). Even though there was no air conditioning and Paris was hot (80's to low 90's while we were there), it was not a problem. A fan was provided but we didn't even need it. The breakfast was also excellent. The staff was wonderful, all spoke English and answered any questions we had. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the train, which connects easily with the metro - you are in the heart of Paris in less than a half hour. We would definitely stay here again.

I stayed for 6 days and it was an unpleasant experience due to several issues. Firstly, there was no air conditioning, and despite requesting a room with better ventilation, we were not accommodated. Our room was unbearably hot throughout the stay, making it very uncomfortable. Additionally, the pillows were extremely uncomfortable, adding to the lack of rest. Towels were not changed even when placed on the floor, indicating poor service and housekeeping standards. I would not recommend booking here, especially during warm weather.

I am sorry to read of your disappointment regarding the air conditioning during the heat peaks during your stay. Our air conditioning system (cooled air); unfortunately does not allow us to go below a certain outdoor temperature threshold. I have taken note of your comments and passed them on to all of my teams. We hope that this will not dissuade you from choosing the Novotel Rueil Malmaison in the future and that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you again. Best regards

One of the worst hotels

It is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in my life. Right now it is 5 degrees celcius and the room is freezing, but when we talked to the concierge they said they 'turned off' the heater. We tried contacting the concierge again because it was too cold, and they said they were going to come but they did not. They called us back instead suggesting that they give us extra 'blanket'. Also, there is no soundproof whatsoever between the rooms, thus you can hear literally everything coming from the next door.

I WOULD AVOID THIS HOTEL LIKE THE PLAGUE

The worst 3rd world experience. They overcharged me and when I tried to discuss the charges they all playing the run around game. Charged me for an infant in the room. I didn’t have a kid with me. (Like a 100 euros difference in taxes and fees) When I was leaving and asked for a taxi, the front desk guy called, what it seems the biggest taxi scammer in Paris. The guy overcharged me like 25 euros for the trip, blatantly claiming wrong mileage. My advice: AVOID THIS HOTEL LIKE THE PLAGUE If you make the mistake to book this hotel: 1. USE UBER….Don’t rely on them calling you a taxi (unless you have tons of extra euros to spend) 2. Check your invoice and question them on every single bogus charge you see. 3. Check carefully whether they have pulled a fast one with adding more people to your room just to charge you more. Overall, I’m disappointed in you, Novotel. You really added a very bad aftertaste to this trip. I’ll NEVER EVER book with you anymore. Your chain doesn’t exist to me anymore.
