Broken and tired, air-con not working, avoid

The positives: location - chosen because there's a U-bahn station a few steps away with frequent trains to Stuttgart centre, no need to pay for a city-centre hotel with all the problems of driving and parking there, this hotel is really easy to access being just off the motorway. And yes, it does have its own underground car park...but..... Right, the many negatives; first and foremost, the air-con didn't work in our rooms, effectively just a fan. No doubt the manager/owner will respond that "thanks for the feedback, this will be fixed in the future" but reading other reviews, it's been a common problem for some time that still isn't fixed and probably won't ever be (and it was 29C outside, opening a window wouldn't have done much). Accor group hotels have 'form' for non-working air-con, be warned. Reported the non-working air-con to reception, just got a shrug of shoulders, the staff couldn't have been less interested or helpful, they need to be 're-educated' Second: only one elevator working, reported by other reviewers, still not fixed (probably never will be), staff aware but not at all apologetic, so very long wait times to get to/from room to reception or car park Ah yes, the car park....don't know when the hotel was built, but the car park spaces (constrained by pillars) are teeny: as others have said, you would really struggle to park 2 Golf-size cars next to each other and open the doors, so the effective number of spaces is actually halved. And then, after paying the usual outrageous cost, the reception staff handed over the ticket and... "er, the exit barrier isn't working, press the button and we'll operate the barrier from here". If they're paying attention and/or not too busy. Hmmm.... Back to the rooms: even in the privilege rooms, Mercure hotels (I was told) don't have a fridge/minibar, so if that matters, bear it in mind. Room itself looked tired and worn, cleanliness could have been much better Breakfast was just about OK, items not replenished regularly (never did get my orange juice), dining room was over-warm (perhaps, I dunno, the air-con not working..?) but food choice was adequate Overall, I'd try and choose another hotel in the same area, for ease of driving access and close to U-bahn. Avoid the Mercure, whatever the response might be to this review, I very much doubt that the problems I've reported could be/will be fixed

However, only a certain company (maintenance contract, warranty, etc.) is allowed to repair it - and has been putting us off for some time due to a lack of staff. I ask for your understanding here. And: Unfortunately, our air conditioning system, which happens to be used in most hotels, continues to reach its technical limits and allows individual adjustments within a limited range only. Stayed at this hotel again it has improved but still not quite right the positive,s were the staff were excellent polite and welcoming also the price of a pint of beer has dropped by one euro to 9euros a pint ( still think it is to dear) the rooms were very clean and bed very comfortable now the negatives the shower base is like an ice ring when wet suggest a non slip matt for the shower base also I have mentioned this before as I was first down 6-15 for breakfast I had scrambled eggs- sausage and garlic pate the eggs and sausage were cold and the garlic pate had ice on it another person said the same to me and waited for the refills when he tasted it it was cold.Can any one tell me is this the norm in this hotel.Overall the hotel has improved except for the breakfast.May I ask why there is no evening meal offered when a coach party arrives is it the travel firms fault if it is I apologise

Well went again to this hotel (due to coach firm staying there) I found it was the same except the staff were excellent even when they were confronted by one of our passengers on the coach because he couldn’t get an evening meal I thought the staff handled it very well the rooms were excellent the only criticism I have is two fold 1 is the price of the beer 11euros a pint and the 2nd is the breakfast I was down by 6-15 the second in the restaurant and I found the eggs, bacon ,sausage was cold even as I was the second down for breakfast.i must compliment your receptionist’s and bar staff excellent manners

Great experience, hotel staff were amazing with fantastic breakfast buffet! Iza Mikaberide on reception was extremely helpful and even shared her personal phone charger 👌 would definitely come again. Room was very clean and comfortable, housekeeping lady also very polite and friendly.

Never have i stayed in a hotel where three times they’re knocking on the door from 8am constantly harassing me. No do not disturb signs and just barging in even when the door is double locked. We returned at 1am after the football match yet they’re banging on the door at 8am!!! ridiculous when you can’t check into the room until 3pm!!!!
