Personelin geneli güler yüzlü idi. Booking rezervasyonumuz olmasına ve kredi kartı tanımlı olmasına rağmen , konaklamamızı peşin ödemeye mecbur edildik. Kahvaltı çeşidi azdı ve dini konulara hiç özen gösterilmemişti (şarküterinin tamamı domuz eti idi , en az 1 çeşit dana eti olabilirdi) .

If you have to go to Essen (and I'd not rush) then this hotel is a very good value choice. The rooms are Ibis-like as it is an Ibis and perfectly serviceable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is very near the station which is useful. The trains passing by are not annoying. I'd say this good location is tempered by the homeless people in between the hotel and the station. I do not mean that their presence is wrong, but some are a bit rude/aggressive, shouting if you do not acquiesce to their requests. That should not put someone off but it is better to be forewarned.

Our stay was OK (as usual), but in the weekend we visited the breakfast buffet was overcrowded due to a large number of guests that all wanted their breakfast at the same time because of their scheduled bus departure. Both days the hotel staff had a hard time keeping the buffet filled and getting tables ready for the next guests.

Spotlessly clean. Great location. Friendly, helpful staff and a good breakfast. Definitely value for money. We had 3 rooms for 6 adults for one night and everyone was satisfied. Our only issue was the smokers by the entrance. Having to walk through a group = very smelly, the smell lingered in our clothes and was prominent in the hotel lobby. Everytime the sliding doors opened a cloud of cigarette smoke wafted in, really unpleasant. Creating a dedicated smokers area further up from the door would stop this quite easily. Apart from this the location was great to get to the Christmas markets and city centre. We enjoyed our stay.

Well situated for the centre of town and the train station, but not *too* near the station so not noisy. The expected Ibis standards of comfort, service and cleanliness -- thank you. Bathroom cramped but well equipped -- though usual problem of nowhere to put anything in the shower! Friendly and helpful staff -- all queries dealt with quickly and efficiently, and with a smile. Price of accommodation very reasonable, breakfast (adequate but not special) quite expensive! The air conditioning in our room did not work, but the windows opened (hurrah!) so we had adequate ventilation -- the weather was very warm for September. On-site secure parking was very handy, and reasonable at 10 euros per day. A great base for our activities in the area (exploring and visiting by train and car). Would certainly recommend it and would come here again.
