Sleepless Evening Due to Unattended Dog and Poor Response from Staff

I recently stayed at Mercure Dijon, and unfortunately, it was far from a restful experience. From 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM, a dog in a nearby room barked incessantly, disrupting the entire floor. We visited the reception twice to report the issue, but no effective action was taken. It became clear that the hotel allows guests to leave their dogs unattended in rooms, a policy that caused significant disturbance to everyone nearby. If you're considering this hotel for a quick stopover, I would strongly advise against it—it might result in a frustrating and sleepless night. I hope management takes this issue seriously and reviews their pet policy to ensure a more peaceful stay for future guests.

So, a few Brits use this hotel as a stopover point when driving back or from the UK - which is perfect as near the motorway. We were on an Interrail trip and decided on 2 x nights in Dijon and booked the Mercure. Easy to get to from the Rail station - either walk (about 20mins) or do as we did and get the tram door to door! The tram picks up outside the rail station and there is a stop right by the hotel - 'Auditorium' on the T1 line. There is a supermarket next door for any essentials too! We chose this hotel so we could relax a little by the pool ( very hot August) and enjoy a walk into the centre of Dijon - about 10 to 15 mins. Nice and clean all around including the rooms and quiet too. The staff were very helpful. We did not eat in the restaurants but enjoyed the bar in the late afternoons. A good location whether travelling by road or rail.

The receptions at 10 pm on 9 Oct 2024. They are not have a service mind , not nice or friendly. Just said “not our job” We are the group tour when we arrived for checkin they not prepare room with name. Just said we didn’t get the name, not our job!!!

Fantastic hotel, the room was superb with loads of space. Well decorated, modern and very clean. Staff in the hotel were excellent and service good overall. Good parking facility under the hotel with plenty of spaces. Dog friendly. Large bar and pool area with drinks and food available.

Bad room lighting, no storage options, Good location.

Bad room lighting, dark colors in room. No drawers for clothing storage. No luggage storage/support. No TV offerings in English. No luggage carts for cartage to room. Wifi inconsistent. Good beverage and dining options. Good location for Dijon tram.
