Excellent Mercure property. We were upgraded into a newly refreshed room, which was really excellent, with clean and comfortable bedding and a stunning bathroom. Great to have aircon in muggy and hot Salzburg. The city itself is very accessible, and we liked being away from the bustle of the town and yet close enough to walk a few blocks to the main tourist spots and train station. Lovely and consistent welcome from the whole team. The only downside was purely aesthetic - the breakfast room/restaurant and its garden are showing their age and could be updated, compared to the design of the rooms. Of course, I’m glad that they are renovating the rooms first! Would stay again.

This hotel is about 500m away from the Salzburg station. Its a good place to stay.  Clean, rooms comfortable and check in smooth. Has all the necessities of a good hotrl: toiletries  hand and bath towel, air-conditioning, good beds, cupboard, writing desk, chairs, safe, air-conditioning, kettle, hot drinks 2 bottles of water. Free apples at the checkin desk.

Really comfy room - excellent location and friendly staff. The location is across the water from the old city but its handy for the train station and Mirabelle gardens. The rooms are so comfy - a.c and fridges with really comfy beds. Took about 15 minutes to walk down the water. They have luggage storage and also loaned me a charger when I broke mine.

I’d probably say this is a 3.5 / 5 We are experienced Mercure Hotel guests (infact this week we have six additional nights at another Mercure hotel in a different city) … and this hotel doesn’t seem as nice as others. But the good points are the complimentary cakes and biscuits in our room on the first day. The bedroom, although not big, is well decorated and has everything needed. Staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast is quite ok with a wide variety of items, and the kitchen will cook fresh omelettes to order which are very large! I didn’t like the machines at breakfast for dispensing the fruit juices etc. Communal areas are very clean. Not so good points .. I ordered an Irish Coffee at the bar… (nearly €11) it was made with cold coffee and ice cubes, and incredibly little alcohol… may be the bar man used a recipe for an Iced Coffee?!?! it was the worst Irish Coffee I’ve ever had anywhere in the world!! At breakfast there is little gluten free options… there is gluten free bread which is served very hard (presumably microwaved)!! No gluten free pastries / cake. Not enough fruit at breakfast eg cut oranges. The breakfast room is not kept clean and tidy. There was egg shell below our table! The dining room probably could do with a re-furbishment. The hotel is 10-15 minutes walk to the centre to Salzburg old town and a 10 minute walk to the railway station. So, well located (if you’re ok with a bit of a walk). We didn’t have a problem with the location. Water is not re-supplied in the bedroom. No Nespresso coffee machine in the bedroom.

Your comments regarding the cleanliness of the breakfast room and the need for refurbishment in the dining area have been noted, and we will take the necessary steps to enhance these spaces. We appreciate your understanding regarding the location and the walk to the city center and railway station. Regarding the replenishment of water and the absence of a Nespresso machine in the room, we will consider these points as we continuously seek to improve our guest amenities.
