We stayed at this hotel for 1 night on our trip to Salzburg, it is situated around 20 mins walk from the main part of the city but that walk does take in other nice parts of the city. Our room was great, really modern, clean, comfortable and spacious. This hotel is definitely a great option to stay in a beautiful city.

I stayed at the Mercure City Center Salzburg on a friends holiday in October 2024, visiting Austria and Hungary. The hotel is a low lying structure that is about 10 minutes walking from Salzburg Hbf, which is the reason my friends and I booked the property. Check in was okay, not the friendliest, but not unfriendly either. The hotel is a little dated looking, however the rooms are very nicely appointed. I always expect a lot of ingenuity from Mercure properties because the ones I've stayed at seem to be thoughtfully designed. This property was not exception. The room was nicely laid out and designed, a bit of quirkiness, but it made it stand out from some of the other chain properties that are sometimes just blah. Get the breakfast. It is very nice. There's an old timey butter machine that punched out single pats of butter onto your plate. My friends and I were very impressed by it. No workout room on the property. It's also a little bit of a hike from the historic center if that matters. I'd stay again at the Mercure if I were to visit Salzburg again.

Underwhelming stay but was clean and location was walkable.

We only stayed one night at the hotel and picked the hotel based on an opportunity to burn some Accor points as we needed 4 rooms. Location was okay, about 15 minute walk from the center of town. AC didn't seem to get cold so we slept with windows open, shower was small and awkward. We were spoiled at Hyatts through the trip so breakfast was extremely disappointing. Hotel said it would be included when we checked in but then told us it was a mistake and asked for payment. Luckily eventually they ended up waiving it. Room was large and clean so checked off that box and was definitely the best feature. It is noted that after our stay we decided to cancel our additional two Accor hotels in the next destinations and moved back to Hyatts in Budapest and Istanbul.

Great customer service even during pre-stay!

Haven't stayed at the hotel yet, but I have already had a wonderful experience with the team there, albeit via email. Long story short, my booking ran into some hiccups, and Hannah (the Reservation and Banquet Manager) was super prompt in helping me fix the issue even though we were several timezones apart. By super prompt, I mean that she helped me sort everything out all within an hour. I honestly haven't encountered such efficiency in my many years of travelling and having stayed in countless hotels globally. Usual problems like these, may take hours or even up to days to sort out. Thank you so much Hannah, for making my pre-trip experience so wonderful. I am looking forward to spending Christmas there!

Hotel was in a great location. Very good breakfast.. Richard was the best bartender we’ve ever had ! He engaged in great conversation each night and provided incredible service ! We had such a fantastic time while in the bar each night ! Thank you, Richard !!!
