4 Star? Seriously? My advice - AVOID!!

I often take some reviews with a pinch of salt, but this hotel is as awful as others have made out. I have stayed in a number of hotels around Paris now and I can advise you to go elsewhere if you are expecting a 4 star hotel. This should have at least one star stripped off it, as well as management being taken to task about the terrible state. It's quite clear that no one is looking at the guest experience. Having paid £500 for a 2N stay in a superior room with views o Paris, I was expecting a lot more than a 3* (at best) motel from the 1970s. The check-in experience was not notable of any event other than passing over ID and being handed a key. No interaction, no explanation of anything, such as breakfast hours or anything like that, there was not even a confirmation of my stay arrangements. But this is what happens when you employ people and do not train them. Out of the lift, onto the 10th floor, I was met with a dismal dark brown corridor, which was probably right on trend in 1970, but way out dated for a business district 4star hotel. It is not helped by the gloomy dark lighting. But, don't judge a book by its cover, so, let's at least make it into the room. That was no better. Gloomy, cramped, dated, dark and not clean.... am I repeating myself?.... definitely not 4 star and nothing superior about it! Credit where it is due though, it does have a wonderful view over yo Arc de Triumph and The Eifel Tower. But that's where the positive wonder ends. The bed leg was the next thing I noticed, the bed was almost collapsed. I did what I could to put it back together and as straight as possible. Why does housekeeping not report this? It is hard to describe just how gloomy and awful the mood of the room is with the colouring. Brown and dark browns and grey, it is simply depressing and awful. Next, I sought to find my superior element to my room. Nope, nothing! I make no excuses for saying that throwing a few Rituals product bottles on the wall does not make this superior! Ok let's find the robe, slippers, fridge, water.... no, none of those items! Really?! 4star, £250 per night?! The toilet is a separate and tiny room. The bathroom is also tiny with a shower over the bath. The head would not stay up, so I had yo hold the head and try to shower. Interaction this way was not what I expected from my superior room. When I took the shower head out of the holder, I noticed all the dirt and residue in the holder... who is supposed to be cleaning this? Then I noticed the fan hanging down. When I entered the bathroom, I noticed the socket surround hanging off, lucky I didn't put my fingers anywhere I should not have! Having showered myself, and most of the bathroom now because I had to throw the shower head around me, I noticed I could see through the towels! I note others made reference to this but it really is as basic as those reviews! Then you see how damaged and under maintained the rooms are. Having survived the night I made it to breakfast, which is chaotic! The food selection is poor and the hit food is not even hot. I never once saw any member of staff checking food temperatures, which I thought was a food safety requirement. The scrambled egg is the usual carton egg affair and looks so uninviting I never understand why anyone eats it. I opted to boil my own eggs in the machine provided, it was the safest option. The breakfast area is unclean. Food debris on the chairs and I even had a drop from the ceiling air conditioning. I grabbed a coffee and left. All in all, you have the IBIS literally next door, I don't see how this hotel is any better. I am so glad I only had 2N to endure and not a week or worse, a family holiday, I would be devastated. It goes to show the saying is correct, you cannot polish a poo, but you can roll it in glitter. My recommendation, go somewhere else please, you will thank me I promise you!

We stayed here while our son went to the PSG Academy Camp. Hotel was near a business district and a shopping mall (about a 15 min walk) so there were a lot of places to eat. The one thing we had some trouble with was catching a taxi from here. It is a little far from the main part of the city but I didn't think it was going to be that hard to catch a ride from this area. Room was comfortable and big enough for the 3 of us. We had a queen bed and a pull out couch. We were able to eat breakfast and lunch here on some days which was good, i especially loved the bread (why not!!!???!? it was delicious!!!). Service here was great, the staff was very friendly and helpful.

This hotel has A LOT of issues. Interior is stuck somewhere in 1980s with small dark painted rooms with tiny windows. No minibar or even a fridge. We got a family room but baby cots were not available at all. The “family” part consisted of an extra bed covered with heavily stained cover. Breakfast menu was the same every day but at least refilled and warm. Baby high chairs are also dirty and worn. At this price one should wonder whether you are at the Novotel or at Ibis (which is next door). I do believe that this establishment does bring profit but am afraid that the time to put some of that profit back in making it a decent place is long gone. For sure it does not meet 4-star criteria. Novotel should think seriously about brand reputation and do something about this place.

We stayed here for a few days' break from the UK for a family holiday in Paris. I know this is not the obvious choice but we had our reasons for choosing a business hotel in the corporate district- and those paid off. The location is great as it is right on the main metro line, though it does take a while to get to central. The area is a concrete jungle but this was perfect for our child who is obsessed with skating and scooting. It meant he could scoot for ages freely in big open spaces. If you want a charming French neighbourhood, this is not it. It was also very safe, close to business cafes and the nearby Westfield and associated shops. Very urban but also pleasant and friendly with green spaces to walk and relax in. On a hill so got great views across the Seine, the Eiffel and Sacre Coeur in the distance. Walking to the metro or shops gave a great view of the Arc d'Triomphe behind you. The Oxygen complex in the metro had a couple of lovely cafes and restaurants which we enjoyed, and a great little trattoria further up- amazing home made desserts and pizzas. The hotel, facilities, room- this hotel is extremely outdated and is not luxury in any way. The furnishings and facilities are old, faded, basic and rickety. This did incentivise us to leave the room more! The sofa bed/camp beds were awful, TV super old, towels thin and worn, that sort of thing. It is all in need of major facelift and repair. Some of the staff meant well but said they could not help- but when we escalated concerns, things did get done. I think the staff were the best thing about the place- it is possibly unpleasant and frustrating to work there- I do agree with other reviews that the Greem bar staff were rude for example and took a while to do things- but I don't really blame them. The receptionists were obliging and helpful, particularly Julie (or was it Celine?) who was an absolute delight and went above and beyond to help us with a couple of challenging things- as was the other staff member, a young man who appeared to be at manager level. Thank you very much to both of you for all your help. It made all the difference in the world. The restaurant manager (I didn't get his name) was also super lovely and helpful with our child's needs- they really made our stay enjoyable. Just a shame about the facilities really.

A lot of comments about the hotel, which supposedly has 4 stars. The hotel is old and needs renovation. The staff is not friendly. The staff in the restaurant is terrible. There is no information about the restaurant where breakfast is served for individual guests. There is no hot water for bathing in room 800. Hot water is only for the sink and lukewarm water for the bathtub. After a whole day of sightseeing, I would like to take a bath, but a hotel for over 200 Euros does not have hot water
