Housekeeping is a nightmare, call support is rude and unbothered

The sheets were dirty, the telcom was missing, the carpet was filthy. We informed we need housekeeping a day in advance, still had to follow up multiple times and kept getting a response that they will come after cleaning other rooms. No one arrived till midday, support staff couldn’t be less bothered about it and were rude.

We stayed here for three nights as a family of three. Check-in was straightforward, but we were disappointed to find the pool was closed — one of the main reasons we chose this hotel over others in Duisburg. There was no prior notice, no signage, and no apology, which felt quite poor for a 4-star hotel. When we got to our room, we noticed there was only one pillow per person. My partner has asthma and needs extra pillows to sleep at an angle. We asked at reception, but were told no additional pillows were available that evening — not what you'd expect from a hotel of this standard. We made do with cushions for the first night. The next morning, we requested three extra pillows again and were assured housekeeping would deliver them. We returned late that evening to find nothing had been delivered, and the room hadn’t been cleaned or replenished either. After another trip to reception, we were given one extra pillow — better than nothing, but still not ideal. Over the three-night stay, the room was never cleaned, coffee and amenities weren’t restocked, and we never received the promised extra pillows. With the pool also out of action and no effort to communicate or make up for these issues, the experience fell well below expectations. For a hotel that advertises 4-star service and charges accordingly, this was a real letdown. Next time we’re in Duisburg, we’ll likely choose a more affordable option — if we’re only going to receive a 2–3 star experience, we might as well pay for that.

Nice hotel for the price. We arrived tired with two children after a long journey from London and were completely ignored at the reception despite there being no other guests. I have never experienced anything like it. Maybe an unfortunate evening, but a bad experience and the sole reason we will not use this hotel again.

Unluckily not the best experience in a hotel of this categorie I had in the last few years or even in Duisburg itself. First...the breakfast. The sortiment was OK, but the bread was really dry and some of the cheese looked like at least two days in the buffet. Therefore was an abundance of broken and chiped glasses at the edges, which was taken away most unwillingly. Second...maybe it was a mistake, maybe Not...but they didn't want to give out the bill...after I've got it (the day after I have paid it), i knew why....actually it was completly wrong. The young men, who unfortunately had to take the reclamation, was really nice and tried his best. Whereas the others of the service mostly were not. Positive to say is the location really near to the City and the size and the facilities of the rooms (although they could have been without some Hair in the bathroom and packaging material from another user, but that was OK). In the future I will go to another Hotel in Duisburg, I've already visited. Alternative: i would Go into the near city for a better breakfast

Pleasant to stay in. We were on a short-trip to see the zoo and used a special discount including the entrance-fee for the zoo. The stay was comfortable. I'd personally say the beds are comfy, but too soft.😶‍🌫️ Literally thought about to switch over to sleeping on the harder sofa. Didn't do, because I didn't get how to set it up properly... 🫣 We tried the wellness area, hope next time we stay the shower reconstruction is finished 🛠 and the water of the pool is a little bit warmer. (I'm still frozen 🥶) The breakfast is tasty and the hotel-crew is caring & funny. The option to opt-out roomservice is cool. Who needs fresh towels every single day? If we are around, we'd be happy to visit again.🥰
