Design and ambience are quite nice. Isolated, quiet spot with a great white sand beach. Snorkeling somewhat underwhelming, if one had ever been on a beach/reef before. Excellent breakfast buffet. The upscale edge may be wearing off somewhat though? Evidence of wear and disrepair here and there. Nothing catastrophic, but a broken railing and rusted posts, with some refinishing needed in places. Uneven floors in our room with raised nail. Garden view room is a great location. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff everywhere. Convenient ability to change and freshen up while waiting for room. It appeared, however, that some organization was missing (like start of season vs end of season). Island pace is fine, and perhaps a minor language barrier occasionally understandable, but overall guest logistics might need a review. Reception strung us along for a period of time and eventually when we got our room, we were pointed in the opposite direction to find it. Fairly slow service in bar - two times in a row (was not busy). Bartender, however, was sharp and top notch. Typical high resort pricing. Convenient store on site.

This is a really good resort hotel. The grounds are beautiful, and the cabins are well spaced for privacy. We were in a garden view bungalow , and were pleased not to have opted for beachfront as they are a bit overlooked by people on the beach. Food was excellent and so were the two dance shows we saw whilst we were there. The beach by the swimming pool was particularly good for snorkeling as you can wade in from a gently sloping beach and there is a coral reef within a few metres. Although this is quite a large resort, as it is so extensive we never found it crowded.

I stayed at the Sofitel Moorea Resort and highly recommend! It is the most stunning resort on the island and the atmosphere makes you feel at home in paradise. I was amazed by the incredible service of the resort team in every department. The entire resort team were wonderful and assisted to make my stay memorable. It was a pleasure to meet Tatiana in the restaurant, she is the kindest, very caring and a pleasure to talk with. Her warm and friendly approach shines bright. Thank you for a wonderful stay 😊

Disappointed with arrival checkin was slow and rushed nothing properly explained. Garden Beach room had good view of sea but resort is looking old and dated. Service is not the best for a Sofitel food average and over priced. Sea is turquoise blue but very strong underwater current. Staid for 3 nights but would have left after 2. Bitten on the beach ankle level so assume sand mites, sunbeds are poor quality and very uncomfortable, pool is tiny.. Would not recommend this hotel to my friends.

We are staying here and the first hour has been less than expected. 30 minute wait at check in, no welcome what so ever. The keys did not work, had to go back and get new ones. But the kicker was the blood on the bed…yes, they literally made a bed with blood on the sheets and thought that was appropriate. Hoping things get better fast. Beware, they market themselves as one thing but execute very differently. Disappointed so far.
