I enjoyed my overnight stay here. I had some doubts because of very mixed reviews, but my experience was totally positive from the friendly check-in, through dinner and breakfast. Parking is plentiful and free. The hotel is a few minutes from the main motorway. Although not in Valence itself, the lovely Parc Jouvet (some animal enclosures and a great playground for kids as well as being in a pleasant setting) is an easy 2 minute drive away with free parking. My room was delightful, newly refurbished, bright, well-lit and well designed. Wifi was perfect and the bathroom great. The hotel does not have rooms with baths, only walk-in showers. My dinner was excellent (so don’t believe those negative reviews) and breakfast ample, although I thought 20€ too much to pay for it. The restaurant area is friendly and lively. I will happily return here again.

This was the worst restaurant experience we had in the last years : we had to wait for more than 1 hour for 6 oysters (we ordered 12), my husbands french Fries were cold, his filet pure almost cold and served without salad or sauce. My caesar salad was served with crispy baked chicken…ice cold! For this horrible diner we had to pay 106 euros . We were not the only unsatisfied customers : both tables behind us also returned their plates untouched. What is happening in the kitchen ?? For sure the chef left, maybe the gardener is behind the stove now ? We will look for an alternative hotel in the future . Same price, better service

Easily accessible off the A7 motorway. Plentiful on-site parking. Comfortable room with desk and sofa. Welcoming staff. I did not use the restaurant or the bar, but both were evidently popular. If you’re travelling with a dog, there is a park less than a minutes drive south of the hotel. Best to drive there as it’s a busy road and there is no sidewalk.

Accor knows how to run hotels We trust them and have had generally good experiences throughout their range of brands. There are a lot of positive aspects of this hotel and a few annoying ones. First, on the plus side, they have a very well run restaurant with both pleasant service and surprisingly good food at reasonable prices. There is ample parking and the location is quiet. The rooms are well appoited at this price point, although the wc is cramped and the closet is minimalist. Unlike many french hotels, lighting in the bathroom is bright and there is adequate room under and around the sink for guests' toiletry kits. It is nice to have a rainwater shower head, but insane to install an incredibly small and inefficient drain. Half the water leaves the shower in the direction of the rest of the bathroom. The mattress is marshmallow soft, not good for the back. The pillows are life ptrserver hard with an equally unwelcome effect on the neck. More e of a motel than a hotel, they are removed from downtown. Fine for highway travlers, less useful for exploring the city.

Our stay at Novotel Valence Sud was only for only one night on our journey further south, but when undertaking this journey, it is always our first choice hotel. As always, the staff were very welcoming and professional. Our room was also up to the usual high standard we have come to expect at Novotel Valence Sud. The highlight, however, was our dinner in the hotel's restaurant which is consistently of a very high standard - but, on this occasion, it was probably the best we have had at Novotel Valence Sud. The hotel also creates a very vibrant feel in its restaurant and bar - full of life!
