Have used the hotel over the years as it is a relatively convenient stop off point between Calais and Bordeaux. Parking is secure and free. There are also electric vehicle charging points. The hotel has had a makeover which has improved the reception area but sadly the rooms, whilst clean are very basic, now are more akin to a cheap budget hotel. The bedside tables are ludicrous, more suitable for a gnomes picnic. It’s not 4 star that’s for sure so expensive for what it is.

It is a good hotel for an overnight stop. Room decent with good bathroom, evening meal good and breakfast very good with a lot of choice.

I absolutely loved this hotel. Very clean, very quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was continental and plenty of choice, hot food, pastries, cake, toast, cereals, eggs etc. coffee and tea available too and lots of fruit juices and water. Dinner is available at the hotel but it's advisable to book as it gets very busy. The food and wine were absolutely delicious. My room was at the back of the hotel overlooking the garden and swimming pool. The room was quiet and bed was very comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

A convenient place to stop on our journeys south and north. The hotel isn't easy to find but is a quiet location. The public areas are an odd mismatch between "mid century modern" and a lodge somewhere in the Rockies. There were plenty of luggage trolleys but they will hardly fit in the lift! The restaurant is OK but the menu isn't large and there are no specials - after 2 meals there I'd tried the dishes I liked the look of. Staff were pleasant and we were served promptly. The rooms on our 2 stays were quite different, our first room was on one of the upper floors and had a bath and a fridge and more room. What we have come to expect from Novotel. The second (which had apparently been refurbished) was on the ground floor and had no bath or fridge with hardly any space to unpack the items we'd need for the night. Although there was a kettle and teabags etc there was no milk - so we bought some - no fridge to keep it in. If there is no bath - please provide a shower cap! The toilet is so small that the door almost touches the toilet. Does anyone think about what travellers might need when they are re-designing rooms?

Stayed 1 night on route back to uk from Spain. Handy location close to motorway. 2.5 hours from Calais. Plenty of parking. Have stayed once previously. Basic but was clean and no frills. Thought we would do again. Hotel has been recently renovated. The entrance, lobby, restaurant area are now reasonably nice. Nothing to write home about, think harvester if from the uk. Some of the rooms have renovated also, ours was. Although this amounts to a lick of paint and new furniture rather than a remodelling. Artex walls and (new) brown 1980s carpets remain. Has a pool and garden area for kids to play. Didn’t use. Did use the gym which is simple. Treadmills, cardio, one bench and free weights up to 30kg. One bench. Fine as long as you’re the only person in there. Room was clean. Odd smell from (old) drains on entry soon disappeared. Linen was hospital standard. Pillows terrible. Had to ask for 2 more. Pull out bed could feel the springs in the mattress. Room overlooked the pool and restaurant garden. Staff put music on to clear up at 10:30 which disturbed us. Drinks in the bar were expensive. G&T 12 euro. Pint of beer 9. Booked for restaurant at 8. Staff seemed over busy and rudderless. Finally took our order at 8:30. Had to retake it because of technical issue at 8:40. Food came quickly but chicken was undercooked and had to be sent back. Had seen enough to know I didn’t want to trust It, asked for chips on their own. Got the same meal again. Had to be sent back again. When I paid, the offending meal hadn’t been taken off my bill. Staff pleasant, but inexperienced. Cost £130 for the room and £60 for the sub par meal. Not great value for money in my opinion. Would not return or recommend on this basis.
