Again a last-minute inspiration to go to Paris and stay 2 nights at Maffliers Demeure de Campagne. A fair price, even in the middle of the summer, for the three of us in a regular room. We usually stayed in a superior room but regular is OK, even if lamp at right side of the bed wasn’t working and the tap for the warmth of the water in the shower was half broken… Still, great welcome (again) by a very friendly staff, wonderful team at the Bar and the Brasserie during the evening. Friday night was buffet with music animation and Saturday was BBQ. So cool. So, lovely location, smily staff and nice outdoor swimming. We go from Maffliers by car to Paris for cultural visits and shopping, and we are very happy to be back at Demeure de campagne to rest after the stress of Paris city. Too bad the indoor swimming pool and spa was closed this time. Otherwise, our daughter really loves the place, watching the horses and playing ping-pong and “pétanque”. She is actually the one insisting for us to return :-). But ok, she doesn’t have to insist that much.

Still very disappointing

Been using this hotel for years, not a lot of choices in the area. I actually avoided it since over a year ago, and just went back to give another try yesterday. Worse than I remember! Still the same issues, not at all what I would expect for a 4 star, at this price. Still very crowded with large groups (I gave up on trying getting breakfast ). Bad smell in all-way and rooms. Looks like they did some updates in the rooms since last time I came, but did not notice an improvement. Actually the bed mattress is the worst i have add in a longtime. Cheap block of foam, you can see and feel all the foam shape (like egg box). The entrance of the hotel was updated: really strange, with no counter, some staff with casual clothing at a bar table was doing the check in / out with smart phone. As many said, this is not at all à Château. The bedrooms are in a blunt 80’s style building. If you need elevator, all the way down to the very end of the rooms. It is actually strange with rooms below and above main floor. I am done giving this place a try.
