This is the first place we've been and where everything was... perfect. Starting with the scenery, the island, the surroundings, the villa, the restaurants, the amenities, the activities and of course, the staff. I'll break them down further: The island. The small coral island is a paradise on its own even without the resort. It has a fantastic fauna, both on the island and in the water. The beaches are a dream, the sea has unbelievable colors and the tropical (equatorial) small jungle is making the scenery complete. The south-west facing part is a bit wilder, the beach is smaller but more secluded and you should pay a bit more attention in the water if you go for a swim, as here and there there are coral colonies. The island is surrounded by a coral reef, which has an incredible variety of marine life - we've seen a turtle, sharks, lots of coral formations and lots and lots of colored fish. The villa. We had villa 183, which in my and my family's opinion, was absolutely perfect. The villa has a pool, two rooms which perfectly accommodated our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children), a wonderful terrace and the most perfect small path through the jungle to the beach (don't imagine something big, a 10m jungle tunnel). The beach is small, but secluded and absolutely lovely. One can reach the diving center and house reef in 5 minutes walk and similarly the "yoga shala". There is a bathroom with toilet and a separate bigger bathroom with shower and a lovely bathtub. Both bathrooms have an outside opening, which makes it so cool - taking a shower under the starry sky is ... an experience. Although the villa is advertised as "sunset villa" - one can hardly see the sunset mainly because of the wild vegetation. But that's not a minus, the open-air pavilion on the first floor offers such stunning views that it totally pays off. The restaurants. There are 3 restaurants - Onu Marche (offering breakfast and dinner buffets), Latitude 5.5 and Bodumas (both offering lunch and dinner, but be aware that dinners require reservation). Onu Marche is like the island's heart - there are most of the things happening - singing band in the evenings, a game zone with a pool table, table tennis and table football, some art corner, the chocolate hour, etc. Having breakfast virtually on the beach among the coconut trees is again an experience in itself. The food is very good and they make an effort to vary it from evening to evening. Latitude 5.5 was our "go-to" restaurant for lunch and some of the dinners. They have a mix of European and Asian cuisine, which was absolute top. What we really liked was that they had a good choice for kids as well. Bodumas is more of a Japanese / Asian / Sea-Food oriented restaurant. They have amazing sushi and wagyu beef, but unfortunately this is not so much aligned with my family's taste. That being said, the sushi - sashimi platinum platter is something I still dream of. The activities. One can do lots of things - we enjoyed fishing at sunset, turtle and dolphin tour, some water sports activities, snorkeling on the house reef, the yoga classes and of course the spa. The turtle and dolphin tour is cool, we've seen plenty of joyful dolphins and one turtle. That being said, if you're lucky you can swim with turtles also on the island's reef. The sunset fishing was super cool - my kid caught a red snapper that the Bodumas restaurant staff was so kind to cook for us the next evening. I would like to highlight again the house reef and diving center, which for non-divers but occasional snorkelers is truly a gold mine. The sunrise and sunset yoga classes helped us enter a relaxed mood and forget our day-to-day worries. The spa was... a bliss. The variety and quality of the massages are over the top. They even have kids massages on offering, which our children enjoyed fully. The staff. This is where the resort excels. This is indeed what makes it stand out. The staff was the most helpful, friendlier and qualified we've ever encountered in a resort: - I'll start with our host, Ishaal - who made sure we're well accommodated, arranged everything for us and even offered us a complimentary wine tasting, which... was unexpectedly entertaining. - Then I'll mention Selvi - our yoga instructor who made sure we're fully taking advantage of the classes even after our holidays. - Saravan - the best waiter ever - he remembered our preferences and made us feel so very welcome at Latitude 5.5, while making great food and beverages recommendations. - The spa therapists led by Panida, who were doing wonders. - The marine biologist who sent us the turtle movies once we returned from the tour. And many others who, with attention and every day smiles did not hesitate to go out of their way to make our stay unforgettable. Others: - Getting to and from the island by seaplane was arranged by the hotel, who took care of everything and even arranged our stay in the lounge, once we landed in Male. - Mosquitoes. The resort tries to maintain control over mosquitoes, but there are still some. Make sure you use a mosquito repellent. - Sustainability. This is the biggest criticism I have, but not with the resort itself necessarily, but with Maldives as a whole. Although they are a nation in the first line of being affected by climate change, they are also one of the biggest polluters. The resort, like most of the Maldives, produces its electricity mostly from diesel generators (you can hear it when you walk around on some parts of the island at night). Bottom line, my family and I had one of the most unforgettable, beautiful and relaxing holidays of our lives and that was due to the entire Mövenpick team. Thank you!

MOVENPICK Resort was incredible! Located perfectly in the Kuredhivaru where it is the home to some of the most amazing sea life. The friendly staff and the delicious food were beyond our expectations. We have already booked our return for next year.

It was such a dreamy experience. All the staff were exceptional and super friendly! Special shout out to *Shadwa* who was outstanding and made sure our stay was super comfortable. The snorkeling was absolutely mind blowing! Also from fishing trips to spa treatments all the activities were fun and memorable. The sky and the stars at night were mesmerizing to look at from here.
