I came to Hobart last week to work on the tennis, part of the workforce at Billy Jean King Cup. The hotel was really comfortable, clean, the staff were engaging and more than helpful. The breakfast was included with our booking, plenty of options and well presented. Disappointed that ordered coffees made by the barista, but were not told before hand that not included in breakfast, so had to pay. Not a deal breaker, but restaurant staff should be trained to inform guests before ordering. All in all great location to everything from waterside restaurants, pubs, and Salamanca markets. Definitely recommend.

Very nice hotel in a central location in Hobart. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and spacious, they provide all the amenities you need, including in-room Nespresso, and they even had decaf, which is so rare. I felt right at home. I was excited for chocolate hour but it was a bit anti-climactic. I expected more variety but the selection offered was a bit underwhelming. The initial plates that came out at 3:30 were empty within minutes thanks to a few greedy individuals and even though there were many of us left waiting and several employees nearby, the chocolate wasn’t replenished until one of us asked a staff member. Also, the breakfast was delicious but confusing. We weren’t the only people who were confused about what we could have (buffet or table service or both?) and I couldn’t find the coffee. The host/hostess should explain the process better. Overall, I absolutely loved the hotel and would definitely choose to stay there again.

Convenient location but small and noisy

Convenient location within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Not great if you have a car as there is nowhere to park and valet is expensive and inconvenient. Small average finish room overlooking Elizabeth st, quite small given the price point. The view was nice of mountains and harbour however noisy especially during sleep, being awoken by the chiming clock tower in the adjacent GPO building and in the early morning road and wharf noise. Bring a set of ear plugs especially for the clock tower! Soundproofing of rooms isn’t great. They forgot to make up our room entirely one day.

Ok this was shocking to me - a hotel that claims to be 4 star plus - does not clean the rooms everyday , uses your hand towels to mop the floor , the hotel does not tend to the room phone not working so every time you need something you need to go to the reception , the tea coffee sachets are not replaced nor are the cups n glasses cleaned .. Quiet poor form in my opinion, and no action taken by administration in-spite of it bought to their attention . I read the previous reviews and wondered if it was the same hotel ….

Don’t arrive in peak hour 5.30 pm the streets are frustratingly slow and the GPS took us to a side street back entrance to the hotel near the bins with a stream of cars exiting a car park and we had no idea where to go from there despite ringing the hotel with no one answering and I had to dial again. Managed to find the back door and entered the underwhelming foyer Tried to check in to our harbour view room only to be told our booking had been cancelled! Never happened to us before apparently a glitch in the Accor app we were told! Anyway I have to say the manager on reception was really lovely professional and looked after us with his calming manner. Two bottles of sparkling water and a seat helped to assure us whilst he tried to find us a room. We were allotted number 1501 for 2 nights and then a change of rooms for two nights. Room 1501 is toted to be a more expensive harbour view but I’d more call it a small obstructed harbour view with city views dominating. You can lie in bed and look at buildings but if you want to view the harbour you have to squeeze into a corner and sit on mismatched chairs. Luckily the kind manager gave us a good price charging only for city view rooms because I would have been disappointed if we’d paid full price for harbour view for what we got. Next thing to warn you is they have a valet system of parking your car and assure all your belongings will be brought to your room. We were asked when the gentleman brought our belongings “is everything there?” Hard to answer that suddenly after everything we had been through. I’d rather look in my car to ensure I had what I needed but we weren’t given that option Our toiletry bad had been left in the car and we had to ask twice with a lengthy wait to get it delivered to us. My wife felt the fellow delivering it was unimpressed. Next morning staff not answering the phone so we had to go to reception to ask for our can to be delivered to us and mind you we weren’t aware that an extra daily charge for this is incurred. So I hope this information helps the customers to be more informed but surely it should be standard information on the website?
