Good hotel, good location, but very noisy at weekends.

The hotel itself is great and the staff (with one exception) were really excellent and helpful. The breakfast is varied and very good, lots of fresh fruit and interesting local dishes - we really enjoyed it. Although we reserved well in advance and the hotel was far from full, our room was front facing and near a lift. At weekends (week days are fine) the street noise from nearby bars and clubs is immense. No one comes to Bogotá for tranquility, but we had just arrived off a long haul flight and were rather tired, and the noise carries on to the early hours. We had a small embarrassment on one evening. We had a drink in the lovely garden room one evening, and gave our name and room number to our very pleasant waiter. When finished we dropped our glasses off at the bar and said good night. The lady running the bar area absolutely bellowed at us as we stood waiting for the lift, asking for our room number and names - again. She already knew us, as she had already asked for our details in the same rude manner at breakfast time several times. She then insisted that we didn’t have a credit card against our room and demanded we paid for the drinks there and then. We said this wasn’t a problem at all, but as a point of information we had supplied at credit card for incidentals to reception, as the hotel requested, when we checked in. She called reception to check, and insisted we were mistaken. I knew we weren’t but it was not problem at all to pay then, so we did, but there were other guests and staff in the bar area and this episode was extremely embarrassing for us. On checking out a few days later: the chap at a reception said “Thank you, we have your credit card details already given from when you checked in, and we can take payment from that.” - So the lady at the bar was entirely mistaken then, but obviously decided she was going to allow us to be embarrassed rather than herself.

The hotel is ideally located. A block away from the fun of Parque 93, and right next to restaurants and coffee shops. It's a lively and safe environment. Overall, the hotel was good. One our second day, the water went out and took some time to come back, and come back clear. Because if this, the hotel offered free breakfast for the following 2 days which was nice on their part. The breakfast though, was a tad underwhelming. Lots of empty plates. Overall, we'd recommend the hotel.

Overpriced. Breakfast was ok but the most uncomfortable awkward seats EVER in any restaurtant. Outside of breakfast I cannot recommend the food in the restaurant. besides the ridiculous seats, the food except for brakfast is not good. However, many good restaurants around to eat. It is a "trendy" area around the hotel that is why it is priced so high. I believe the Dann Hotel nearby is a better value.
