This was my third stay at the Raffles after 2010 and 2011. Many of the employees I met twelve years ago are still (or again) there. I know no other hotel in the world that has better service. Employees are not only doing their job as per job description but express a true interest in their work and in the wellbeing of their guests. When you return home from the temples, they greet you by name and with a cold towel. When you display the “make up my room” sign, they get into action right away. As for the hardware, the 2019 renovations were a full success in my opinion. The colonial charm was preserved while the technical infrastructure is up to date now. The dust has gone while the patina remains. No one is perfect: I’ve discussed some points about hallway noise and storage space with the management at departure, hopefully leading to further improvements. Champagne breakfast at Café d’Angkor remains a daily highlight; the same applies to the Elephant bar, especially during the 4-6 happy hour when drinks are half price. I felt pretty close to paradise when reading a good book under a frangipani tree next to the huge swimming pool, hearing nothing but the birds and the water fountain. For livelier moments, there is an extensive activity program. The historical tour is highly recommended. Polish your French before joining as many documents presented are en français. . Finally, as a paying customers I was delighted that the hotel obviously refuses to flood the property with freeloading influencers / bloggers.

We had a large group of friends meet at the Raffles in Siem Reap to show support for a non-profit (Caring for Cambodia) that our friend started over 20 years ago. They took excellent care that our rooms were all where we wanted them to be and were all very nice rooms. The pool is incredible! The food was impeccable! The staff genuinely made us feel as if we were family. Elevated our whole experience. Thank you so much!

Management at the hotel is somehow on a high horse, we loved the interior but human factor lacks. Otherwise the resort is very beautiful especially the swimming pool area and the rooms. We could have had a better time there if not for the arrogant attitude. Anyway, it’s worth a visit since it’s the only one historical hotel in Siem Reap.

We booked this hotel for its historical value but it turned out that the property was renovated and it completely killed the colonial atmosphere. The food was just ok and staff didn’t speak good English. We stayed at Raffles in Singapore and that was the main reason we decided to book this hotel but unfortunately it turned to be poorly run and not up to the standard.

I was invited for a media stay at Raffles Siem Reap by your PR advisor from Balcony media group who assured me that the hotel will be honoured to host me. I have been asking him for my booking confirmation for 3 weeks but he told me not to worry and just book a flight. As I am coming from Hanoi, I had to book 2 different sets of flights which cost me 500usd. A few days before my departure I got a message from that guy representing Balcony media group in Asia saying that he talked to the marketing manager at Raffles SR who refused to host me last minute without explaining why. Why do you bother hiring a well-known PR agency if you are not going to follow their advice? So I have a question why your marketing manager did not reply 3 weeks ago when Balcony Media group sent him my profile and decided to do it just a few days before my flight while Balcony Media Group simply said oops sorry, I hope you can sort out your tickets. Is this some kind of joke for you, do you realize how expensive it is to travel to Cambodia in the post-pandemic world? I tried to reach Raffles SR through their IG but they kept deleting my messages and also they flagged my first review on Trip Advisor as a false one although they are very well aware that it was exactly my experience with them. This is a very childish behavior I would expect from a hostel but not from one of the most reputable hotel in the world. It’s called silencing and it’s not ok in 21 century.
