If you are arriving by train, there are likely better options, but this was ideal for us, as we were travelling by car. It combines easy access by car with reasonable access to the old town (about a 20 minute walk, or there are some public transit options also on the main street just in front of the hotel; they can take you down to the Domplatz). The underground parking (extra cost) was convenient. Checkin was friendly and efficient. The rooms were large, with a separate toilet and shower/sink area, a large workdesk area, and lots of storage. They were very quiet. The breakfast was excellent: yogurt, fruit, fresh oranges, many types of bread, buns, sliced meats and cheeses, mini meatballs which were great, eggs of various types, several different raw veggies, cereal, danishes, etc, and very good coffee. Cost was reasonable for this quality of hotel. The only drawback might be that there aren't many businesses in the immediate area. It's in a residential area filled with low-rise apartment blocks. There are a few businesses nearby, but not many. For supper, the front desk did recommend an Italian restaurant about two blocks away, and it was excellent. Other than that, there isn't much around. If I were in Regensburg again, I would definitely stay here.

Positive stay in the Novotel Regensburg

Originally we booked for just two nights in a standard double room but decided to extend our stay by a further two nights as we enjoyed it so much (both Regensburg and the hotel). The rooms are modern, clean and well equipped but the main reason for the positive review is the staff, be it reception, housekeeping or in the bar and restaurant they are all so helpful and friendly. Car parking was another bonus with easy access and decent sized parking bays.

Disappointing

Be careful of what lurks behind those doors! From dirty underwear in the cupboard (how was the room cleaned in the first place)! To a locked safe! (Was the room checked at all after check out? )To a manager who rudely asserts that cucumber, peppers and lettuce at breakfast is indeed catering for a paid VEGAN breakfast! A very disappointing visit to this establishment. We further found that booking the same category room does not necessarily yield the same features. My son had a full bathroom with separate shower and bath with a double wash basin. Extra couches. My husband and myself had a bath with overhead shower and a sleeper couch only. Single wash basin in the bathroom. Yet both classified and charged as double executive rooms! All is not what it seems !

As already mentioned in the letter accompanying the treatment that we sent to your room after you informed us of the unfortunate circumstance with the safe and the forgotten item of clothing of the last guest, we regret the inconvenience this caused. We had also offered you a move to another executive room. Unfortunately, we have only 2 different executive rooms per floor but only 1 executive room each with the same room layout and therefore we could not offer you the identical layout type on the SAME floor as your traveling son in his executive room. Regarding the breakfast, we would like to mention again that you did not pay for a VEGAN breakfast buffet, but booked the NOVOTEL breakfast buffet, which offers a large selection of vegan options (15 of the over 90 breakfast items are declared as vegan on our buffet), BUT unfortunately we do NOT offer the fried vegetables and mushrooms you vehemently requested. We would therefore like to refrain from saying that our response was in any way rude or derogatory, but was unfortunately only intended to clarify the breakfast structure and services.
