Really nice, older hotel in the centre of Bristol. Staff were excellent from Daniel on the from desk who was friendly and efficient to the bar staff who served me with a smile. Great breakfast, highly recommended and I would stay here again. Richard Sep 24

Lovely staff, good location, room was poor, air con not working so room was ridiculously warm and unable to sleep, water pooling on window sills, damaging our clothing etc complained and still waiting for a response three weeks later. Breakfast items were sparse and had to wait 20/30 mins for more bacon, just generally poor. Would not recommend.

Dear Guest Thank you for your feedback, it is disappointing to read that you did not have an enjoyable stay with us and your clothing got damaged due to pooling water by the windowsill. I do remember your feedback as I recall you had joined us to attend a wedding and I am confident that our Operations Manager has gotten in touch with you. I will follow this up once again. I am sorry there was a delay in delivering items to the buffet and rest assured I will investigate this with our chef. We do operate on a traffic light system in the mornings particularly over the weekends to ensure a smooth service however we do appreciate that on the weekends our guests want to have a bit of a lie in which created a bit of congestion and high demand on the later side of the morning. We are working through some changes to enhance our breakfast service and offering and we do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back so you may witness the changes that have been made based on your feedback. Very disappointed in this hotel and Acur and how they have felt with my thief from my room. I left a very expensive glasses in my room and checked out. I called them up explaining that I woke up and had put my contact lenses in before leaving and placing my glasses on the side in the bathroom. I did not pack them and closed the door behind me and checked out. When calling them I was shocked to discover that they had not been handed in and they could not find them. To this day I have not heard anything back and they have not been over bothered about the situation. Disgusted. be warned when staying here and leaving valuables in your room. The response I received from management on google was turning it around saying I lost my glasses and clearly not taking responsibility of the whole situation itself. If I had lost my glasses then clearly ‘lost them in my room’ so in that case they would still be in my room as I know I left them “lost” in there before checking out. So this clearly shows that there were taken from my room once the door was shut closed and locked behind me. The message sent by management clearly shows that he is just brushing this all under the carpet. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced the same at this hotel before and i urge them to come forward.

Dear Sir I am sorry once again for not being able to find your glasses that you have stated you have left behind. I can assure that all lost property items are received and logged into our lost property book and stored away in a safe locked location, unfortunately no glasses have been found in the bedroom you have checked out of. It truly saddens me that the hotel team works hard to ensure that you have an enjoyable stay and are then having the allegation of theft throw at them. These are good hard working people who i can assure you will not lose their job over a pair of glasses as they work to provide for their family's as we all do. I trust every member of our team as we are a close knit unit and I do not believe that any of them would take a guests personal belongings. I have spoken to our Head Housekeeper yesterday and she has once again assured me that glasses have not been found in the room you have departed. I have stated on your google review that the hotel is not responsible for guest personal belongings as we can not verify what guests bring into the hotel. We do hope you find your glasses. Won’t Be My First Choice

I’d arrived early at the hotel, so left my case in a side room with a helpful staff member. When I went to collect my case, and on approaching the room with another reception staff member, he slammed the door in my face whilst he retrieved my case. It felt rude and unnecessary. I stayed in room 431. 1. There’s something ridiculous about being unable to hang your clothing in an available wardrobe. 2. There’s something even more ridiculous about having to hang your clothing over the kettle .. unless you wish to steam your clothes! 3. The walls are decorated in a nice shade, however there are areas where it looks as though some kind of liquid has been thrown up it. 4. The carpets are tired and stained. 5. The bathroom is shabby. Really poorly maintained. 6. If you have any mobility issues, having to climb stairs to the bathroom will be an issue. 7. The room numbering system is absolutely stupid! Really, really idiotic! Enjoy and laugh at it or you might cry. 8. Although my experience wasn’t great, my colleagues were upgraded to rooms on the 2nd floor and enjoyed their stays immensely.

The hotel has pros and cons. Pros: the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room apart from the peculiar furniture was very comfy. We had a premium room, plenty of space, a fridge etc. The bathroom was very clean. Cons: a particularly bad hazard. We were on third floor, as we came out of the lift we had to negotiate five stairs, no hand rail and directly at the too two large, heavy fire doors. I couldn't open the door from the stairs and luckily I had my husband do it when i got there. From the other side the doors opened right onto the stairs and if you didn't know you could fall not knowing.. There were signs on the door but the lights on a sensor sometimes left us in the dark. I thought the breakfast was meagre and the space was small - we found this to be expensive for what it was.. The furniture in the room looked as if they had shopped at a car boot sale. May have been ironic, i dont know.. All in all we would look further if we went to Bristol again.

The restaurant seats over 85 guests in one sitting, which is considerable, so I am slightly taken back by your comment about the space being small.
