I cannot believe this is already my third time visiting the resort!!! This piece of information alone tells you how wonderful this property is. Not only is the view breathtaking as usual, the employees are the best hotel staff I have ever had the pleasure to work with - they are the very reason why Mercure Maldives Kooddoo has some of the best reviews in the Maldives. This time we had a pleasure to obtain the PADI Overwater Diver certification at Mercure Kooddoo’s five star dive center. Our instructor, Agus is the best scuba diving instructor we could ever ask for. He not only made sure we have done our homework, but also went above and beyond to make sure skills and knowledge are probably taught and utilized. On top of that, his safety-oriented mindset was key to helping us become successful certificated divers that are conscious of our surroundings so that we are making the safest decisions while diving. Thank you Agus!! We were beyond excited to also see the employees that we had interacted with during the past visits. Some of them we have known for three years and kept in touch! I’d like to give the bartenders a special shoutout! Pradeep and Yukthi are still amazing as usual, whom we have known for three years. They really make sure that we are taken care of every time we step foot into the bar. We are so happy to learn that Kasun has been promoted to the bar supervisor because he is always around to check to make sure the guests have their needs met. Pubudu and Kamalsiri, whom we have known for two years always greet us with a giant smile and great conversations - essential traits that great bartenders have. Can’t wait to come back and see these people again. Alita and Vista are still classy and beyond amazing. The seafood night at Alita and the new menu at Vista are something to die for - simply delicious. Thank you Ibbey and Hassan, whom we have known for three years, to always be there as soon as we sit down and make sure we are taken care of. Jo-Ann, whom we have also worked with before, still greets us with a warm smile and she is never shy to recommend the best dishes. Wow! I wish the service I receive at restaurants outside of the Kooddoo can be this good. We have also had the pleasure to know Ali this time, who’s extremely observant at spotting a near empty glass and quick to refill. The chefs are also amazing! The food is definitely something to look forward to every single day! I can’t believe how efficient the housekeeping team has been during this stay. Jilani, who is our main housekeeping staff, really made sure the room is sparking clean with personal touches. His leaf arts and towel arts are such treats to the eyes! A huge shoutout to Hoodh, the front desk manager whom we have been working with for the past three years! He went above and beyond even before the arrival to make sure things are set up the way that are geared towards another perfect stay for us. Mercure is lucky to have such a wonderful leader at this property. Thank you all for your hard work. I am already thinking about coming back for the fourth year. There are so many other resorts to choose from in the Maldives - yet Mercure Kooddoo stands out because of its people. It is like being welcomed into a huge family. Here as a guest, you are not just a number. You are someone that those amazing employees care for. They take pride in making sure everyone is feeling welcomed. See you again! Roger

Our holiday was so much more at the Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort . From the start when we were picked up at the airport by our golf buggy, shown the report and taken to our room as the check in to the check out and delivery to the airport on the day we left. Seamless, easy, friendly and relaxing. The resort exceeded our expectations with its fantastic staff and incredible underwater marine life. We had plenty of encounters with all sorts of marine life from tropical fish to sea turtles and reef sharks. We stayed in an over water villa, very comfortable villa , without a pool as the ocean was the pool and we were facing the Italian restaurant which gave us some shade in the afternoon and the most amazing sunsets. The villas are very well appointed, with a glass area to view the ocean under the villa . It also had an outside bathtub, to view the stars at night in your tub Even though it is Monsoon season, we had great weather and every day you could swim in the ocean which was crystal clear, or lay by the main pool near the bar and restaurant. The place was incredible, an all inclusive holiday including replenishing mini bar daily and bucket of beers each day delivered to the villa, some great vouchers for snorkelling, jet skiing, sunset fishing, discounts for the spa, and other activities, including free cooking demonstrations. We also did a jet ski adventure I would highly recommend to the sand bank and then snorkelling on the reef. Staff were fabulous and really made this trip memorable. We felt we were having such a relaxing time we extended our stay a further four nights instead of spending it in Singapore on the way home. So glad we did this as we were just starting to unwind, and the weather was so great and hotel staff made the stay relaxing. We felt very taken care of there. Food was also enjoyable, although a little limited with only the buffet restaurant and Italian Restaurant, however each night the Buffet had themes and this made the food very diverse and gave something for everyone's tastes. I loved how fresh the food was offering salads and a lot of healthy fresh food options. The Italian restaurant although not open due to renovations they had it upstairs at the Alta restaurant. Food was fabulous and recommend you eat there. We had two meals there over our stay and although limited menu all the food was great. We also used the gym which was small, fantastic view, and very clean had enough equipment to keep you busy. Yoga lessons were also on offer as well as paddle boarding and kayaking. We will miss the staff, who shared their stories and cultures with us. What impressed us the most it was the pride taken in their work and the diversity of backgrounds. Everyone was incredibly generous and welcoming , providing excellent and service, which made this place so special, along with the stunning scenery we enjoyed every day. Our room was kept clean and everything replenished that needed to be done. As we left the resort, everyone was so lovely, making us want to return. We also liked the work the Mercure was doing to be a sustainable resort.. no plastics, no unnecessary merchandise that just gets thrown away, an app and QR codes for menus etc. All the staff were absolutely wonderful. They couldn’t do enough for you and everyone greeted you with a genuine smile. The pool bar staff namely Prahdeep, Kamal and Kasun always greeted us with such friendliness every time we came in. Big shout out to Kasun who was always ready with our favourite drink like he had a six sense. Drinks were all fabulous and bar staff excellent mixologists. Restaurant staff were fabulous too with Hassan (who delivered all our wines), Ibrahim, Joanne (always so friendly and wanting to ensure we had a wonderful experience) , Ali and Made (so lovely and friendly) in the dining room, Ali in the Vista all showed amazing attitude and service. All delivered with kindness and a welcome. We would highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a holiday to relax and unwind and enjoy the hospitality.

Let me start by saying I am sorry if this review is a lengthy one, but I don't think there will be enough words in the world to describe our trip here. My husband and I spent 12 nights in an over the water bungalow, with a pool and a sunset view. Let me start by saying, if you're wondering if the pool is worth it, when you can just dive right off of your deck into the ocean, trust me, it is. It was so nice to snorkle in the ocean, and then climb out and hop in the pool for a bit before we got changed, or even for a nice little night swim. WORTH. IT. So much ocean life to see, we saw something new, every single time we snorkled, and we love to snorkle. Our room was beautiful, the food was incredible. There were 2 restaurants to choose from, and even the pool bar had a menu where you could eat lunch, and a variety of snacks and appetizers through out the day. The staff there are INCREDIBLE! Everyone is always smiling and more than happy to help you with anything that you need. As my husband and I like to drink, we really got to know the bartenders. Having constant conversations and even inside jokes, it was always nice to see them every day. Kasun, Yukthi, Lasing, Pubudu, and Predeep were a few of our bartender friends. Love them. We even got a picture with them on our last night there. We got the opportunity to go scuba diving, and do various other water activities. The boat/tour guides, Martin, Agus, and Gracia are the best! Some of the waiters we had the pleasure to get to know, Shifa, the adorable lady as soon as you walk in, Shaeed, Smith, Ibrahim, and many more. Always trying to have a conversation, and asking about your trip so far to make sure you are enjoying every minute. My husband and I have done a lot of traveling around the world to resorts, and this is hands down, the most amazing place we have ever been. We felt like we made real friendships with the staff, which we have never felt before. To the point where we literally got emotional leaving and saying our goodbyes. I can't tell you enough how incredible the entire staff is. We got to use bicycles to pedal around the resort, which was a time saver and a lot of fun. Every where you look, is a perfect picture opportunity. I can't tell you how many beautiful sunsets and ocean pictures I have. The beach is clean and has the perfect area to walk out and swim, and the best reef to snorkle. You just walk out to the bungalows, climb down the ladder and climb in. In fact, other islands do tours, to come to the reef here. That's how incredible it is. If you're looking for the perfect place for the perfect vacation with the perfect staff, this is the place. We will absolutely be back, my only complaint is that we were not able to stay long enough. Thank you so much, for hands down, the best 2 weeks of my life, we will never be able to top this vacation. My husband and I stayed here for 9 nights for our honeymoon and it was absolute PARADISE!! Cannot describe how blissful it was. We came all the way from Washington, DC and it was truly worth the travel for such an unforgettable experience. We stayed in a sunset view over-water villa with pool. The resort was small enough that the walk from our villa to anywhere else on the resort was only a few minutes tops. The room was beautiful and we absolutely loved watching fish through the viewing window on the floor whenever we wanted, and early morning on our pool deck watching reef shark, sting rays, and a multitude of fish swimming all around the villa. The bathroom was luxurious and the outdoor shower was great to have after getting out of the ocean. All the staff at the resort were fantastic-- wait staff, bartenders, maintenance staff, cleaning staff, dive shop employees, spa technicians, etc! The pool bar staff were AMAZING, especially Kasun and Kamal. They made delicious drinks and seeing them every day always brought a smile to our faces. The food at both Alita and Vista restaurants was amazing! Within 2 days of arrival the wait staff knew our morning coffee preferences and had them at our table before we even had to ask. Lastly, the dive shop crew really helped make our trip unforgettable. Highlights included jet skiing (our guide took us to one spot with literally dozens of bull sharks swimming RIGHT below us!) and the dolphin cruise. You can also take out kayaks or stand-up-paddle boards daily, and take snorkeling masks and fins back to your room with you to keep for the duration of the trip. We snorkeled nearly every day and saw endless kinds of tropical fish, reef sharks, sea turtles, eels, sting rays, and even one nurse shark. By the last day of our trip we were discussing how long we should wait to come back for an anniversary trip!! (Initial idea of 10 years quickly became 5 years, then 5 years became 2 years haha…) Cannot recommend Mercure Kooddoo enough!! 10/10 will be coming back someday!
