I live local to the George Washington Hotel. I haven’t used their facilities for a lot of years. I decided to visit the venue and use the pool area on January 10th 2026. I was charged a £20 day fee. Which in my opinion is very expensive but that’s not the issue. The issue is the place was falling apart and very dirty. Steam room wasn’t working. One set of steps into the pool as the others had a barrier in place so you couldn’t use them because they were damaged. Underside of the water fountain was covered in rust and the rust had stained the tiles on the floor at the side of the pool. Sauna was dirty. Lockers in the changing rooms were falling apart, doors missing. Other doors hanging on one hinge, locks on locker doors didn’t work properly. If I was booking a hotel and booked the George Washington because of the pool and gym area I would be absolutely fuming at the standards that are presented there.

Night away and spa treatment

Me and my partner had a spa day and night away. It was fantastic the spa treatment I got was a full body massage for 55 minutes and it was unreal. Brooke was the young lady who carried out the massage and she was amazing at her job. The food was top drawer too.

My room had been prepared beautifully by Temmy which made for a nice arrival experience. I also had excellent service in the restaurant from Patrick who took the time to chat to a solo traveller which makes for such a nice experience.

Staff extremely helpful and considerate to our disabilities. Hotel was clean.Food was good . Spa facilities so relaxing. Cosy night in package we booked such good value. Would definitely return.
