Spa very poor, the rest good

A mixed bag. Outdoor pool and sunbeds excellent, with nice ambience. The room was nice and bed very comfortable. Check in process a nightmare as our agent had not secured our room. Rather than give us a room knowing we were booked in, we waited over 4 hours to eventually get a room. The food was good, but not 5 star in my view. The spa was a joke, just a steam room and a few plunge pools of varying temperatures, and a small heated indoor pool. The real sting in the tail was it cost €15pp to go in. It should be included given it's quality. In fact, if a Hotel is advertised as a Spa Hotel, it should be included anyway, in my view.

We had a very nice and relaxing stay in this hotel, we really enjoyed the hotel dinner and breakfast and the other hotel facilities like the spa and the swimming pools, all was great starting from the check in with Souad who was very helpful and professional. Definitely coming back again for a longer stay.

We arrived at Sofitel Essaouira and were immediately helped into the hotel with our bags. we were greeted by the manager Niama and I was given an upgrade to a sea view room . We were also given a tee drink and Moroccan patisserie by Braham. The treatment was absolutely incredible : Zahra and Ainass. I have stayed at other Sofitel locations before and this one did not disappoint, and in fact most likely topped those other ones that I have always given excellent reviews. Free wi-fi was also much appreciated at this hotel. Housekeeping was excellent Siham👌.

Staff friendly and helpful. Food good with excellent choice but breakfast is manic! Good location with good facilities but all fixtures and fittings are very tired , or example fancy bath in the room but no plug, no hand drying facilities in any toilets, no air con in the gym. Organisation was generally poor, sometimes we got no towels, sometimes no water, sometimes no tea despite asking at reception. They just don't have the basics right and so many little things spoil what would otherwise be a lovely experience.
