Awful place to stay

Avoid never stay here. There is a massive tower being built next door so get ready to wake up at 7 am to heavy construction it will be going on for 5 years. Then at night you are next to a night club which is pumping music until 1 am. The room is cheap the sheets are terrible the bed had poop stains all over it. If I owned Accor I would get rid of this property it is not a mid level asset it is awful and ruins the brand

I am owed a refund by the hotel. When I checked out, I asked the desk clerk a question, and she said she would speak to the manager and get back to me, but she confirmed that I was due a refund. They never got back to me and I did not get a copy of the receipt. Nor have I received a credit on my credit card. I have emailed the hotel twice with no response. This is unacceptable.

Great location but the horrific customer service and dirty common areas. We reserved and paid for our room in July 2023 in full. When we checked in, staff demanded to see the CC used for the reservation (July 2023) which was canceled by AMEX due to fraud. The staff demanded to see the card otherwise they would charge us in full again or we couldn’t check in. Despite showing the staff the reservation email confirmation showing the payment in full - which they had in their system, they still insisted in seeing “the cancelled credit card or proof of cancellation”. I asked for the legality of the ask and to speak with the manager which they refused to facilitate. After forwarding an email we received from AMEX letting us know the new card was on its way (from several months ago), they let us check I. I asked for the contact of their Regional manager next day so I could file a formal complaint and I was given the Hotel manager. She apologized and told me they would train the staff on proper procedures. The following interactions with staff when asking from assistant was not much better. Front desk offered to book us a car to drop us off at our New Year Party which I confirmed with the front desk. The staff never did the booking which resulted in us being almost 2 hours late to the party. The following day we asked for some assistance booking a restaurant reservation as our call would not go through. Bianca at the front desk told me “No, we don’t do that - we don’t have concierge services”. As far as the property,the gym equipment and floor was extremely dirty - pictures attached. I spoke with the front desk coordinator and staff 3 times - ask for a cleaning/ spray bottle and towels so guests can clean equipment between uses- it never happened (pictures are over a 4 day period). The hot tub was also filthy- pictures attached. The bathroom in the room also had a horrible sewage odor. Breakfast was one of the positives- definitely the only staff that had it together, and the area was actually clean. Accor needs to take a look at this property and overall, the staff. It was embarrassing for me to suggest the Hotel to family and friends that accompanied us in this trip.

Summary: a comfortable, average hotel in a great but noisy location with friendly staff. The good: Location: directly opposite the beach with great panoramic views from my “luxury” room. Staff: warm and friendly service at check-in from Laryssa, who spoke excellent English. All other staff I encountered during my stay were also friendly and approachable. Accor status: hotel did leave a nice welcome note in the room (albeit in Portuguese) with ferrero rocher chocolate and two bottles of water to recognise my Accor Gold status. The bad: Noisy: it was incredibly noisy which made it hard to sleep. In particular a loud bass sound (doof doof) was shaking the walls and windows all night. My stay did coincide with the Copa Libertadores final, a big football match between a Brazilian and Argentinian team where passions and rivalries were intense, so unsure if this level of noise was a once off or something more frequent. The next day there was a loud rally of some sort opposite the hotel in the town square, with the rally’s speakers using a microphone and loud speaker, this went on for hours and was excruciatingly loud. So loud you couldn’t hear the TV in the room on max volume with the balcony door and bathroom window closed. Be aware there is also a construction site next door to the hotel where a new building is being built, this will likely be noisy. Privacy: the balconies for the sea view rooms are only separated by clear Perspex, meaning you have no privacy and the other guest can see you and in to your room if they’re also on the balcony. Conclusion: if it weren’t for the sleepless night I would have rated this a 4, as I think everything else was pretty solid. Hopefully more can be done to soundproof the rooms as part of any upcoming planned work. This property is much better in my opinion than the Novotel Florianopolis I had just stayed at.

Good hotel and is located in a perfect location which is its strongest point. It is central to Balneario in front of the beach. Staff is very good. Hotel could do with some refurbishing in my modest opinion.
