One year on and I have been wanting to write this review - from the moment I arrived at the Mercure Hurghada reception – the atmosphere was ambient and luxurious. Excellent service from the two staff members at reception (Hisham and Ahmed Hassan) who were very welcoming. They gave us a nice room and did everything they can which contributed to an amazing holiday. The main highlight for me was the beach. It was sandy and large with plenty of sunbeds – I liked the happy juice bar which makes very nice smoothies on the beach. The views and scenery from the room and within the hotel were beautiful. Thank you to Harby Attia who was very friendly and helpful. Plenty of food options and tasty at the buffet – curry, fish, cakes and the station with pizza/pastries was delicious - Thanks to chef Ahmed Taha and Hamdy Elsayed. Everything was a very high standard and made my holiday memorable – please see photos and thank you.

We stayed here for Christmas. The hotel looked amazing for the festive period. The location was fantastic close to the airport and sat right on its own private beach. The hotel had its own Spa and horse riding stables. The grounds were kept immaculate. We stayed in room 1818 it was perfect for us overlooking the sea and far enough from the disco/theatre at night so we had excellent sleep. All staff were kind and courteous. I had a small issue with my lunch one day the manager and head chef dealt with it absolutely fabulous, rectified it immediately and ensured every dining experience after was a great experience, we have to say the choice of food every day was the best we have had. We can't recommend this hotel enough it surpassed our expectations and will definitely return. Our heart felt thanks go out to all the staff who made our Christmas at your hotel so amazing! We would like to sincerely thank the Mercure team for the warm welcome and the high level of service. This was our third stay at the hotel, and we can confidently say that it has become even better. The quality of food has noticeably improved, and the service was impeccable. New Year’s Eve exceeded all our expectations — a wonderful buffet, fireworks, and excellent organization of the celebration. We would especially like to highlight: the reception team led by Mr. Mahmoud and Guest Relations Veronika for their care, recognition, welcoming and support. F&B team, including waiters and their managers, for their outstanding work, excellent supervision, and high service standards in all outlets. Special thanks to the Hygiene Manager, Dr. Badr, who constantly ensured the highest quality of products, strict hygiene standards for both staff and food presentation. This attention to detail was clearly felt throughout our stay. We also truly enjoyed the Italian à la carte restaurant — perfect chicken, delicious pizza, and excellent service. Many thanks to the housekeeping team, especially the supervisor Mr. Khalil and the staff members who created beautiful towel decorations on the bed, surrounded us with care, and were always ready to help with anything we needed. The beach was wonderful: discreet service, a true relaxation atmosphere, red flags to enjoy privacy but sales teams were also very friendly, windbreaks protecting from the wind, and very good-quality towels. It was easy to relax and even take a nap without any disturbance. We would also like to highlight the animation team — David, Max, girls and entire team. Their work was fantastic: original shows, fun quizzes, and a great atmosphere during a day. Many thanks as well to the bars and pool area for the excellent lunches and friendly service. The main pool was heated, and the attentive staff ensured everyone had enough space and felt comfortable, always with a sense of humor and care. The fitness club also deserves special mention — always very clean, with fresh towels, water, and perfectly maintained equipment. Another great addition is the SPA area. There are a few aspects that could still be improved (jacuzzi condition, hammam stones are too hot and doors have big gaps, so it gets too windy inside) but overall we enjoyed it. Massage was great! As we say in Russia: “The way you welcome the New Year is the way you will spend it.” We believe that our year will be filled with care, happiness, joy, wonderful people around us and lots of wealth! Great staff, outdated hotel room and no WiFi

The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. In particular our cleaner Azis who cleaned rooms 2005 and 2014 where we were staying. The s.chef Ahmad Taha was very friendly and went over and beyond to provide whatever I needed for my toddler. However, the hotel and the rooms are very outdated, the TV isn’t smart TV so unable to connect it to YouTube. In addition there is no WiFi connection in the hotel room (it only works in the reception) which isn’t ideal so we’ve had to buy an e-sim for all of us. This obviously comes at extra costs and not great. In addition the all inclusive is not actually all inclusive. The snacks start at 12.30pm and if your toddler skips breakfast and wants a bite before lunch time then you are pretty much stuck as snacks are not provided until 12.30 which is the time buffet opens. Free ice creams which aren’t very nice are only served at 1pm and if you want it before then then you have to pay for it. It is not expensive but it’s the principle. The mocktails are pretty bland and not very nice. So the snack and drinks were disappointing. It is very difficult with a toddler to wait for strict snack timings as you cannot control their appetite.
