Lack of sleep due to room being too warm

First impression very posh when you walk in the hotel , we were on top floor when entering the room it looks like 1970's old doors toilet separate from shower room then bedroom was fine very mixed match very strange like you were in a 1970's then going to present time. View was good from room , £10 a night parking. The bed was to hard like sleeping on concrete, pillows fine ,but even tho they have a plug in fan the room was so hot (no air-conditioning) if u have fan on when sleeping it's too noisy and if you have windows open it's to noisy due to traffic with being right next to main road . The shower was fine , there was a smell from either the water or sink plug. The breakfast was fine loads to choose from and tasty only criticism would be the food was a bit dry. Overall I don't think we would visit this hotel due to lack of sleep we had

NRS Healthcare hired Le Harve Hall to undertake some training on behalf of Southampton City Council and Hampshire and Isle of Wight NHS trust. The Hall was set up exactly how it was agreed, absolutely no issues at all, the hire was for over 30 delegates and the price was extremly fair which also included confectioneries. Parking is free for Hall hire delegates but make sure your Car Registration is registered at reception but there are also terminals outside the halls entrances. Access to the hall was easy and Monika and Laura from the very first email communiaction have been excellent, attentive and professional. NRS Healthcare will be using agian in the future. Thank you very much.

Lovely…if you like sleeping in a sauna!!

This feels like a hotel that is well overdue a refurb. The main issue is a lack of air conditioning in the rooms. This is compounded as the windows barely open, and although the hotel provide fans after a family of 4 have been in the room asleep for a couple of hours this just moves hot air around. Although some of the hard product was good (having a Nespresso machine was a plus and the bed was comfy), this was all in vain given I had 2 nights of poor sleep. It’s worth saying the staff are superb, and when I raised the above at check out they seemed fully aware of the issues. Apparently ownership of the property has recently changed which could present the opportunity for some money to be invested to bring the hard product into the 21st century, but at the moment unless it was the only option in town we would look elsewhere next time we stay in the area.

Noisy & Disappointing Stay

The only good thing about our stay was the size of the room for the three of us. On arrival there was just one reception member dealing with check-ins. After around 10 minutes it was our turn. We noticed there was an engagement party booked into the function room to the left of reception and given that my family members had stayed there two weeks previous and been kept awake by the loud music until after midnight I checked that our room was away from the function room - only to be advised that family rooms were on the 1st floor above the reception area. Decided to leave it and see how we went on. After going out locally and doing some shopping and then going for a bite to eat we went back to the hotel for a drink. Politest word I can use without swearing was “chaos”. Sat in the hotel bar with our drinks, but there were up to 10-12 kids from the engagement party running round the reception and bar and lobby areas, completely unsupervised, kicking and throwing tennis-ball sized balls at each other. No consideration whatsoever for the guests sat down in the seating areas trying to relax and the volume of music also made it difficult conversation-wise. They were blindly running about and knocking into guests coming in thru the hotel doors - and not even apologising for doing so! Kids continued throwing and kicking the balls around the public areas - the second time it hit my 80 year old mum she told the child if it happened again she’d not be giving it back to them. No parents were supervising these kids and the Hotel staff never did anything either - it wouldn’t have been too much trouble for them to get someone from the party to come and have a word with the unruly kids and ask them to go back into the event. Also worth noting that when ordering drinks at the bar, the staff looked like they were doing you a favour! Whilst waiting to be served along with two other guests, a member of hotel staff came out of the room at the back of the bar back bar area at one point and the staff member came out looking like she really didn’t want to be there, looked at myself and the two other customers then proceeded to start rearranging a couple of items at the end of the bar, walked out into the seating area then walked back into the room at the back of the bar without serving anyone!! One of the other ladies actually looked at me and we questioned the lack of enthusiasm and friendliness from that staff member who never came back out to serve!! After putting up with the noise and interruptions in the bar / lobby area we went back to our room - music could be heard from the private event but there wasn’t antique would do about it unfortunately. In all honesty, probably one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in, with staff who could do with a lesson in polite customer service - and if you’ve got kids with you and are looking to book a “family room” then I’d strongly recommend contacting the hotel before you book to make sure there are no private parties happening as it may be advisable to book a couple of rooms at the back of the hotel away from the function rooms! If I venture to Southampton again then I would definitely look at booking a different hotel.

The staff made extra efforts to make my daughter feel very special on her birthday. The staff left a birthday cake in my daughter’s room on her 5th birthday, and the waitresses also gave her a cake with a rendition of happy birthday. All of these extra efforts by the fantastic staff has made our daughter’s birthday extra special. Our stay here has been amazing. thank you.
