Well located hotel with a secure underground car park - not operated by Accor. Rooms and public areas have been recently refurbished so everything looks good. Opinions split on how succesful the update to the public areas have been. As a business traveller think the number of spaces available as work stations is an excellent use of space. I will actvely seek out such a set up when undertaking business trips in the UK. My wife does not agree. She feels that the bar area is sterile and is not at all inviting. As a tourist she would seek out a more convivial hotel. one final word of warning, there are no shelves, just hanging space in the bedrooms on which to place your clothes. Excellent breakfasts, with lots of choice catering for all preferences. Welcoming and professional staff that were a credit to the hotel.

The staff was great. Very helpful and knowledgeable. I like the location of the hotel. Close to train station and good restaurants. I did not like the newly renovated rooms. The lack of furniture and poor lighting was disappointing. The furniture that was in the room was from IKEA or similar. No chair, desk or bureau. I rated the hotel very good because of the staff.

stayed 3 nights.room and bathroom very clean and comfortable.could do with a chest of drawers.breakfast very good and fresh. constantly replenished hot food also available.staff all friendly and very helpful.not too far from station and market square.would recommend to stay. we stayed in room 253 overlooking the pool.

I booked with a chain as we were flying in exceptionally late and had to get a coach so wanted some security that we could book in. The check in process was great and the hotel has just been done up so is in excellent condition. The room was a great size and the bed really comfy. Apparently there is a pool but I didn't want to seek it out. The hotel is well located in between the station and the centre which worked well for us. The ibis is exactly opposite. They had a luggage room to hold our suitcases so we could explore before the flight back. Really liked the small fridge in the room which meant we could keep our own snacks cold. Would definitely come back

Lovely Room and amenities, have never experienced worse service

The location, room and room amenities were excellent but our impression of the service was the worst I have ever experienced from the moment we arrived. We checked in late afternoon on Tuesday 17th. On arrival we proceeded to reception where 2 staff were sitting chatting and there were no other guests around. When we advised we were checking in, the male referred us to a self serve kiosk where we had to check in ourselves, we must have interrupted them in the middle of a much more important conversation which they continued while we were checking ourselves in. Just as we finished checking in ourselves via the kiosk, another couple arrived who were given a more personalised check in. We then managed to find the lifts ourselves (after initially walking in the wrong direction) and located our room. Later we ordered some extra coffee sachets and milk via the app (we were very familiar with the app as we used it at the Novotel Paddington in London) and after waiting over an hour we received a reply to come to the bar downstairs where we could collect it ourselves. I went to the bar downstairs and neither of the gentleman there had any idea what I was talking about. He checked with the fellow at Reception who came over, went to a room and got some coffee sachets while the gentleman at the bar managed to get some milk and a couple of tea bags for us. I asked the Receptionist politely if this is standard practice (as the bar staff had no idea) and he said in a stern tone “ I was the one who replied to your message, we do not do room service!”. I queried if this was considered room service to which he just replied “we don’t do room service”. It appears plain “service” is something this Hotel doesn’t offer. Needless to say we decided not to eat or drink or spend any more time at the Hotel than we needed to, but did enjoy the room. Anyway, just as a comparison, when we ordered some replacement coffee via the app in the London Paddington Novotel it was brought to our room in less than 5 minutes and the staff there were incredibly helpful and polite. That was our second stay at that Hotel and we will be back next year. Our next stay at the INK Hotel in Amsterdam (also Accor) was perfect and like the Novotel London, the staff couldn’t have been more courteous or helpful from the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out.
