A horror house - I can't call it anything else

Nous sommes clients d'Accor depuis très longtemps. Ces dernières années, la qualité des hôtels ibis moins chers a parfois sensiblement baissé. Ce qui s'est passé ici à Provins ne nous est jamais arrivé, à nous, les détenteurs de la carte Gold d'Accor (All). Tard dans la soirée, notre réservation n'a pas été acceptée et on nous a proposé une chambre sale où, apparemment, quelqu'un ne s'était levé du lit que récemment. Ensuite, on nous a refusé la confirmation écrite et nous avons été de facto expulsés de la maison. Tout cela s'est passé il y a quatre semaines, et malgré la plainte avec les photos, nous n'avons même pas eu de réponse de la part de la direction de ce trou à rats, et encore moins de remboursement ! We have been Accor customers for a very long time. In recent years, the quality of some of the cheaper ibis hotels has deteriorated noticeably. Something like here in Provins has never happened to us, the holders of the Accor Gold Card (All). Late in the evening, our reservation was not accepted and we were offered a dirty room where someone had obviously only recently gotten out of bed. We were then refused written confirmation and de-facto kicked out of the hotel. The whole thing happened four weeks ago, and despite complaining with the photos, we haven't even heard back from the management of this awful place, let alone a refund! And this is the full story: When we arrived at the ibis in Provins shortly before 22:00 on 2 August, the first thing that surprised us was how lonely the hotel looked. There were only four or five cars in the car park and all the room windows were dark. The woman at reception searched for minutes in the computer, looked at the printout of the room reservation I had brought with me and said that she couldn't find a booking in the system. She then wanted me to forward the email confirmation to the hotel, which I did. Later, a man came along and briefly discussed something with the woman. Finally, the woman gave me a key card to a room on the upper floor. The room was obviously used and not cleaned. The bed looked as if someone had recently got out of bed. There was a cleaning cloth and another textile next to the bed and a used towel on the chair. There was another used bath towels in the bathroom. It goes without saying that we could not stay in a room like this. So we went back to reception. The woman said that the hotel was fully booked (which was impossible from our point of view) and that this dirty room was the only one available. And that we didn't have a room reservation at this hotel anyway. Then the grumpy woman left and only the man stayed, who by the way didn't look like he worked here at all. First I went upstairs and took the photos of the dirty room. Then I repeatedly asked the man if he had any alternatives, but he only replied "no". As an overnight stay in a bed that had just been used by someone else was out of the question, I asked him to at least give me a written confirmation that the hotel could not find my room reservation. The man then wrote "No reservation by " on a piece of paper in French and stamped it with the hotel's stamp. As the man was not recognisable as an ibis employee, I asked him to also write his name and the date. At this point at the latest, he became visibly nervous and refused. No, he won't write the name, the stamp is enough, he said. I said: fine, if you don't give me your name, I'll take a photo of you as proof. Now the man became really unpleasant and asked me loudly to delete the photo. I said: fine, but identify yourself and sign the paper. Then the anonymous man grabbed the paper, tore it up and threw it away. After such an experience, I had no choice but to leave the hotel. From the car I called accor customer service and ibis Melun was recommended to us, where we finally stayed four nights. After returning, I submitted a written complaint with photos. This was forwarded to the hotel management. No response for three weeks!

Great option for 1 night on the road. Great breakfast and comfortable beds. But really small room, maximum 2 nights or it gets really tight, especially with kids and even worst if it rains! Nice village to wonder around and eat really nice

We stayed as a group for 3 nights at this rudimentary hotel.My main negative criticism related to the flimsy construction and cursory sound proofing.Staying on the ground floor, we were really bothered by guests above walking about,opening and shutting doors. The bed was comfortable enough,but sleep alluded me the first night as I endured the elephant herd trampling endlessly! Another complaint would be the lack of possibility to regulate the heating.It was somewhat chilly.A minor point was a lack of English language television. On the positive side the breakfast was surprisingly good,especially the coffee. Also the staff,albeit only French speaking, were quite friendly and helpful.The biggest plus is that the hotel is "safely" placed in its own grounds and a very easy stroll into the very attractive and interesting old town.

Nice hotel, friendly staff. clean room but please offer decent toilet paper. This was the cheapest paper ever and not in style with IBIS. For the rest all good.If I am in the region I would visit again

I stayed there for 10days. All the materials was cheap and poor. Very thin and loud walls. I could hear from my room (0 floor) if anyone walked on the 2nd floor. No one spooke english : difficult to communicate.. I gave 2 stars because the bed was so nice and comfortable.
