Loved everything from check in to check out. Beautiful property, hard to choose between the views looking out of the windows or simply walking around and see the Empress from all angles. Service from all staff members that we interacted with was A+ across the board. Located within walking distance to so many restaurants/ shops/ excursions. Tons to do right close to the hotel, even if that's walking around and taking in the sights, it is simply beautiful everywhere here it seems. Don't let that dissuade you from the amenities at the Empress though, we did the afternoon tea, sunset sips, many breakfasts and nightcaps. Each meal and drink was tasty, all accompanied with excellent service.

Worth the experience at least once. The staff are amazing. The grounds are full of history but save up. The prices are quite high but for our anniversary we really enjoyed our stay. Wonderful location, food was incredible and the city is an awesome place to explore.

Over all great hotel just a couple of dissapointments

We had an amazing time at the Empress in Victoria, as we always do! But... one issues :was when we asked for the vehicle to be brought down at for 4:20 and when we got to the front entry our truck was not there, we waited a few minutes and then asked where is was, they said it should be here shortly, still did not show up 20 minutes later and now late for our appt they said they brought the wrong vehicle and it wont be long now. Finally the truck was there at 4:50. not impressed. Our dinner reservation were for 5:00 and it was a 20 minute drive to get there. We had a spa treatment which was amazing, the only down fall was the time we actually received treatment was 47 minutes not 60. We were escorted to the rooms at 11:03 and then we had to answer a few questions and get ourselves undressed and settle in on the massage table. Then the ladies had to prepare their stations before they started our treatments. We paid for 1 hour we should receive 1 hour of treatment. We always love staying at the Empress and i hope this is something that will be rectified so others wont have the same experience.

We stayed at the Fairmont Gold at Fairmont Empress. I am happy to report that the newly renovated Gold lounge is spacious and a good selection of food for breakfast and evening hors d'oeurves. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. For example, whenever I asked for a high chair for my toddler, they were happy to bring us one. The outdoor patio was comfortable and a great place to enjoy a morning coffee or evening drinks. The room we stayed in was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We will definitely be coming back.

My fiancee and I recently got engaged and wanted to visit the Empress to celebrate. We were greeted with a warm welcome by Karandeep on Fairmont Gold and Prosecco and chocolates in the room! The Gold Floor is truly a unique experience and the lounge overlooks the beautiful harbour. The high tea was lovely and the staff were very accommodating for allergies. Everything was wonderful and we will definitely be returning.
