What a beautiful hotel! We loved everything about it except our stay was too short! We could have used another day in Medellin, for sure! A friend and I had dinner at the restaurant on the top floor (which is not part of the hotel), and it was fabulous! If it is a weekend, definitely get a reservation! My room was large and roomy. All very new with lots of outlets. I enjoyed my stay there very much!

Summary: a standout Novotel with excellent staff in a great and secure location, ruined by a rowdy neighbour. I liked: Staff - we were off to a great start as we were warmly greeted as we entered the property and immediate assistance was offered with our luggage. The young male staff member who checked us in was very friendly, explained the hotels services and advised we had received an upgrade to a room on the top floor (level 20) due to my Accor Gold status. Waiting in the room was a generous welcome amenity tray with multiple food and drink options. Prior to arriving I also arranged airport transfers via the front desk, this was seamless. Room/hotel - we enjoyed the large room that featured ample storage for luggage, nice views of Medellin and premium bathroom amenities. In the hallway near the elevators there was also a table with complimentary snacks and drinks that were refreshed morning and evening. Location - the hotel is directly connected to the El Tesoro mall via level 'PP' you can exit the hotel elevator and walk directly in to the shopping centre. Within the centre there are a variety of shops, bars and restaurants. We had no issues walking around the hotel area at day or night, area is very safe. Only downside is the immediate area is not super walkable, you'll need an Uber/Taxi and some had a hard time finding the hotel entrance to pick us up. Areas for improvement: Noisy neighbours - during our three night stay we unfortunately had some noisy guests on our floor who were loud and constantly disruptive in the corridor, thankfully it quietened down later at night and we ignored it. On our last night however we were woken around 2am by what sounded like construction, but it was the guest in the next room banging on the wall and playing music so loud it was audible in our room and in the hallway. For the first time in my life I called a hotel front desk to complain about another guest and to the hotels credit they had sent someone from security up within a few minutes. Security spoke to the noisy guest and thankfully the noise stopped. This experience left a bad taste in our mouth and we were tired as we checked out for our early flight in the morning. When checking out, this was not mentioned by the front desk team, I'm not sure they were aware but you'd think they'd check-in if a guest had that experience. Conclusion: Had it not been for our noisy neighbour, I would have given this property 5/5, so it was a real shame to finish on a low note. If I return to Medellin I'd happily stay here again and hope I have better luck with my neighbours. We stayed at multiple Accor properties during our Colombia trip, including the Sofitel in Bogota and I would say this hotel was the best one we stayed at.

Colombiana living abroad-this hotel is fantastic! The service is amazing-from the breakfast buffet to the front desk all the workers demonstrate a high level of care for the guests. It’s a very warm atmosphere located in a wonderful neighborhood where I have felt comfortable and welcomed since the first time I stayed 5 years ago. As I mentioned earlier all the employees are amazing but I would love to give a huge shout out to Juan Abaunza for his incredible customer service skills every time we visit. Do not hesitate to stay here.

Upon our arrival, we were impressed with the stylish lobby of the Novotel that opens to the El Tesoro mall, packed with restaurants and shopping options. We enjoyed the expansive breakfast buffet, and found our rooms comfortable and quiet, great for light sleepers like us. The highlight of our stay was drinks and appetizers at the rooftop bar. With a view of the sparkling city lights, we enjoyed excellent cocktails prepared by Carlos and his crew. While we usually go for the classic martini, Carlos introduced us to some local innovations and helped us appreciate the Colombian cocktail culture. It’s worth a stop even if you’re not staying at the hotel.

Would Not Stay Again

First the positive. Nice sized corner room on the on the 14th floor with great city/mountain views. Comfortable bed. Great AC with adequate storage room in bedroom and bathroom. Large walk-in shower. Both restaurants were quite good with friendly service. 2nd floor connection to a lovely mall with shops, restaurants and bars if that is what you are there to do. Unfortunately the negatives outweighed the positives for us. On arrival only two thin towels in the bathroom - no hand towels or wash cloths. We opted not to reuse and they were replaced the second day and one hand towel was added. Finally had to track down a housekeeper for a washcloth. There was a small package of 3 tissues which were never replenished and we both had colds. I’ve never stayed in a hotel that didn’t have a box of Klenex! There are “don’t “ signs everywhere. Don’t use too much water. Don’t ask for towel replacements. Turn off lights, etc. Water in shower gets very hot without warning so constant adjustment needed. Of course, you are told not to take a long shower. Ours was a 4 night stay. Hotel is not conveniently located for walking anywhere and our ask for an area map and suggestions got us nowhere. Medellín is a beautiful city and we very much enjoyed our visit with the exception of our hotel choice. Would have much preferred a hotel with a neighborhood feel.

We want to explain you that we only have two of each kind of towels in the room. But, in case our guests need more, we can add more to the room. About the "don't" sings, they are just a suggestion. And not in the way that you can not do anything, but in the way that we try to raise awareness about caring for the environment. That is why we have sings that says, for example: "try not to waste a lot of water", "try not to replace your towel unless it is necessary", "try not to leave the light turned on"...
