Truly exceptional!

My husband and I have just spent 7 nights at Sofitel Baru calablanca celebrating our honeymoon and we have had the most wonderful time. The resort is big however the layout of each section makes it feel very intimate and never overcrowded. It was busier over the weekend but the only busy place was breakfast at peak times however we still had no issues with getting served. The staff at the hotel are truly exemplary and really are 5 star. Every staff member we met treated us with kindness even though our Spanish was not good. The staff were always there if we needed them but left us to relax and enjoy. The food in all the restaurants was excellent and we particularly enjoyed Bahia and Calablanca. We were left with daily surprises in our room which elevated our experience, our comfort and left us feeling very welcomed. Diego who works in Calablanca is an asset to the Sofitel group, he was so friendly and kind and when he realised I was trying to learn Spanish he helped me endlessly and speaking to him was a highlight of our trip. There were countless staff that were superior including Camilo & Cristian who helped us navigate the resort and welcomed us warmly every time we crossed their paths. Shirley O & Adriana O who serviced our room and left us kind notes in our room. Also Claudia Martinez and Paula from the guest relations team who kept checking everything was going well with our stay. Yason and Edgar at the beach who were kind, welcoming and accommodating. Also we did not get the names of the staff at the adult only pool however they were excellent, truly, their customer service was great and we felt very comfortable and looked after by them. Thank you so much for your hospitality, we can’t wait to return.

Stayed for 4 nights. Excellent hotel. Lovely location with great views. New and facilities were well maintained. Kids villa well setup. The suites were good size and very comfortable. Breakfast and service was great. Humo restaurant was standout. You need to get driving directions to the hotel by contacting concierge as google maps tries to send you down a closed road. We had 3 rooms booked with the hotel including a suite. Would have been great if there was an added perk for having a number of rooms booked. Christian, Carolina, Brenda and Miguel did a great job is making our stay memorable. Also Kudos to Alex for engaging hotel guest on their experience at the hotel face to face.

We had a wonderful experience at Sofitel Barú. The hotel is absolutely stunning, but what truly made our stay special was the incredible service. A heartfelt thank you to Jorge at the Bahía restaurant bar, who was always attentive, kind, and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. He even found a beautiful beach shell for our niece, which became a special gift she treasures — it made her love the beach even more! Also, a very special thanks to the pool team — Jesús, Yeison, Narkis, and Jennifer — who went above and beyond every day to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. Their friendliness, professionalism, and warm hospitality made all the difference. And of course, thank you to Mario and the amazing team at the food truck. We were there every day for lunch, and they served the best hot dogs and tacos — it quickly became one of our favorite parts of the trip! The beauty of Sofitel Barú speaks for itself, but it’s the people like Jorge, Jesús, Yeison, Narkis, Jennifer and Mario , who make it unforgettable. Highly recommended!

From the moment we arrived at Hotel Sofitel Baru, our experience was nothing short of magical. We joined a group of 10 dear friends to celebrate a very special 50th birthday and spent two unforgettable nights at this stunning property. Driving up the palm-lined driveway and walking through the breezeway into the open-air lobby set the tone — beauty, elegance, and warm Colombian hospitality. Every aspect of our stay was exceptional. The staff greeted us with genuine love, joy, and gratitude, and that energy carried through the entire visit. Any special request we had was met with enthusiasm, and the few small issues that arose were resolved immediately and with great care. The service was seamless across the board — from Guido and his incredible front desk and guest services team, to the staff at Restaurant Bahia, to the attentive beach crew, and the thoughtful housekeeping team. This hotel truly exemplifies five-star hospitality. The property is breathtaking, the food delicious, and the service beyond compare. Relaxing resort

Really beautiful hotel, fabulous service, great restaurants, loved the room. One thing we wanted to share is that we were debating whether to take a car or the boat back to Cartagena. As we had a late flight, it would be easier to take a car but we heard mixed things about how long it would take and the condition of the road. As we were leaving outside of rush hour (6:30 pm) and there hadn’t been rain recently (so the unpaved road was no big deal), it only took 1 hour, 10 mins to get to the airport. We were very happy with the decision to take a car.
