afternoon tea .The food was frozen in the middle scones wet in the middle ,jam and cream not enough for one never mind two people.shower blocked with tape in changing room had to wait 20 mind before we could shower. Last visit Jacuzzi broken . The standard has hit rock bottom this was a present for my 70th birthday from my family .the cakes dreadful diabetics nightmare .NEVER AGAIN .ti seems when a party goes they get good food when it is only two they get the left overs .

Positives… - locality … served a purpose for my visit to St. Helens - room & bed comfortably Negatives… - slow reception service. She appeared disinterested. Twice I walked away whilst waiting to book food or ask advice - the place had obviously been painted so smell of fresh paint wafting into rooms - room was dated … bedside lights didn’t work, rusty taps, peeling paint & wallpaper - can’t work out why phone is next to toilet high up on the wall (unless I’ve missed something) All minor negatives but reception was main issue. I checked in online but then had to fill in the same details (as they had to check phone number was correct), standing there for 15 mins whilst she had to find a room key, blaming previous receptionist. I didn’t book breakfast online but thought I’d do it at reception … gave up after waiting ten minutes whilst she was on phone. Similar when buying drinks in the evening … gave up after standing there ten minutes. You can’t change a lot of the building issues, but customer service is important

Just arrived home from The Coronation street experience, we stayed at this hotel overnight, as we had travelled up from South Wales. The hotel is lovely, the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Our room was large, with twin beds which were lovely and comfortable, and the pillows were soft and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, lots of choices.

I stayed 2 nights in a privilege room. Room was dated but very cozy and homely. A decent size room with a very comfortable bed and good sized bathroom. The card and chocolate was a nice touch. All staff I encountered were so friendly and helpful especially the lady who checked me in and the gentleman running breakfast service. Thank you for a great couple of days!

Location good….but a little bit tired, if it was a horse at Haydock…..it would be shot 🔫

So……here we go Hotel receptionist friendly and helpful…can tell it was good maybe back in the day of Naf Naf trousers, shoulderpads and shellsuits, but its a bit tired now. Food took ages, was busy couldnt get a table as wuiz night was in restaurant, and what arrived was something else! Gym equipment is ‘retro’
