The Sofitel Spa is amazing. Donia is phenomenal for a firm strong deep tissue massage and just so wonderful. Very calming. And Selena is great for service. I highly recommend. The hotel is beautiful. The grounds are breathtaking and the staff service is impeccable. The hotel is older though and the first day we had a cold shower, called the desk and the plumber fixed the faucet issue. Hot water :). Second day, broken again…and no hot water….the hotel manager said the weather made the pipes hot and they were cooling the pipes so no hot water. Disappointing for that kind of location. I would highly recommend the spa and a day visit here but would not stay again, I would just go for the spa.

全程有人帮忙，到房间里还有专人介绍。风景很好体验很好。因为订酒店时选错了，还帮我们免除了费用。非常感谢。There was someone to help during the whole process, and there was a special person to introduce in the room his name is kerolos. The scenery is very good and the experience is very good. Because we made the wrong choice when booking the hotel, we also like the tour of Agatha Christie done by clara. Thank you very much.

Clara was very good as the host for our Agatha Christie talk. She was very professional and enthusiastic about her subject. She offered to take lots of pictures of us and gave us time to look at the wonderful things. She coped well under pressure as we were locked out of the 1902 dining room. She asked us if we wanted to book a table. Well done Clara

Kerolos really was helpful and welcoming for us and is It is very beautiful here, with a long history and culture, many celebrities have been here, it is hard to imagine that in 1991, it is so beautiful! It is still so beautiful and elegant, and the staff are very dedicated and highly recommended!

Old cataract We have absolutely loved our time at the Old Cataract. It is a beautiful hotel with a stunning view; It’s everything we had hoped that it would be. I can highly recommend this hotel. ** PROS - Beautiful hotel that is meticulously looked after - Helpful and kind staff members that are clearly trained very well - Big, warm pool with plenty of chairs around for enjoying the sun - Gorgeous views of the Nile all throughout the resort - Jetty that allows you to easily board boats and feluccas without having to leave the property - Convenient location really close to all the main areas of Aswan - Extra comfortable beds and modern/timeless rooms - Big showers and bathrooms - 3 different ATMs located on property so you can spend even more money :) - Bottled water always used for guests (in-rooms, restaurants, pool, etc.) ** CONS - We found the internet to be spotty and relatively slow even with a good connection - Dinners were just ok. Not bad, but nothing I would rave about, especially for the price. The staff members were a delight though! A very special thanks for the following individuals (and many others!) for making our stay wonderful: - Saleh at the bar who was always there to help - Moh with guest relations - Mohammed at the restaurant - Concierge (I forget his name but he’s a true joy to talk with) - Front desk team (too many people to mention but the entire team were always so kind, welcoming, and attentive) - Front gate staff and security personnel who I joked around with a lot and who always were there to help
