We recently spent 3 nights at the Sofitel Legend Old Cataract in one of the historic (but of course refurbished) rooms in the old wing - and it was amazing. The room itself was enormous (with a large private patio overlooking the gardens) and off the interior hallway was a large closet/dressing room, an enormous bathroom (2 sinks, huge walk in shower), and a separate toilet room. Between the room and the grounds, it's easy to feel like you have stepped back in time. The dining room staff and housekeeping are very customer focused; plenty of water always provided, fruit, candy, and an assortment of coffee/tea. We thought the most magical spot on the property was around the pool where you had an amazing view of Elephantine Island and the Nile. We sat out there to read, even though we never went in the pool, because it was such a gorgeous spot with such stunning views of the Nile.

12 out of 10 Everyone was friendly, attentive, courteous, and professional. The breakfast offers so many delicious varieties, it was hard to choose. Our room had a lovely patio overlooking the garden entrance. Lovely to have had dinner on the patio. The pool overlooks the Nile. How can you go wrong there? Our only negative, WHICH THE HOTEL HAS NO CONTROL OVER, is the flies and mosquitoes. You must wear mosquito repellent. I could not have asked for a more relaxing experience to end our two week trip

Enjoyed a fabulous afternoon tea on the terrace of this amazing hotel last week. The food and service were excellent and the view over the Nile is spectacular. We were very lucky to be shown round the Agatha Christie suite by Marvel who entertained us with some of the history of the hotel. Altogether a marvellous experience and I would love to revisit and stay next time.

The view of nile is magnificent with great location. The interior is well maintained to sustain the legendary. The history of the hotel makes it captivated. The staffs are attentive. Breakfast and Egyptian food are both good . Overall was a great stays
