Balmsain Shampoo and conditioner different consistency. Not the way it used to be.

Room with the view of the Seascape was good despite the fact that it’s in the lower levels. Service is good. Not a first timer in this hotel. It could’ve been a 5 if the shampoo and conditioner weren’t diluted with water. I don’t know if this was approved by the hotel management or the staff mixed it with water, most especially in the wet area with jacuzzi.

Loved their Club Millesime Lounge

The challenge in staying in a popular 5-star hotel is the long queue for almost everything— from the check in to the restaurant buffet stations to the elevator to the concierge cart. I was happy for Sofitel but definitely inconvenienced and so were the other irritable guests. I overheard an elderly guest asking the check out staff how come they allowed overbooking? Well, isn’t that the case even of airlines here in our country? That being said, my family and I enjoyed our stay because amidst the queues, we stayed in a comfortable, clean room with sustainable toiletries, ate lots of good food in Spiral at the Club Millesime Lounge. We had access to the latter because I availed of their Luxury Club City View Room for our two -night stay. What we loved about Sofitel is this Club, which somehow shielded us from the rest of the hotel crowd. They had good cocktails and refreshments, lots of different nuts, and decent light snacks. Breakfast there was okay, too, if you want to avoid the Spiral breakfast crowd. I will never forget their staff, Aira, for her kindness and attentiveness to me and my elderly Mom when we were there. About their pool: it’s lovely to look at and take photos of but I think there are better, cleaner pools in newer hotels. The thing about having too many guests is you can expect the pool water to be sub par. Still, you’ll want to find your spot and sit under their huge umbrellas, order a drink or two and relax. You’ll also enjoy the pool if you’re a good swimmer because it has an 8-ft part. How much did we love Sofitel? I already booked our next 2-night stay. Good thing I’m an Accor Plus member. Was able to avail of a room for less than $200 for 2 nights already.

when my wife and I arrived after midnight, I discovered that I had lost my mobile phone. After my wife quickly checked us in, the front desk and concierge staff on duty were very quick to liaise and try and find details of the cab driver who brought us to the hotel from NAIA. Over the next few days (we were staying for 4 days only) Lux in Club Millesime and Brian at the concierge desk were so very helpful in assisting me with trying to locate my cell phone. Although i could not get my phone in the end, Lux and Brian were very thoughtful and made very practical suggestions, even if they didnt pan out. They went over and above what I expected Also, the entire staff in Club Millesime on the 10th floor are amazing! If you can extend the budget to get a club access room, I highly recommend. Sally's professionalism as well as the other team members made what should have been a very stressful stay, totally enjoyable. Thank you to everyone who made us feel welcome our entire stay

Unforgettable event with staff help

The 4 versus 5 stars is b/c a couple of elevators were out and people we backing up coming up and down. People often had to get off an overloaded elevator. The escalators to/from Spiral were out. The pool slides were under maintenance. It was a special weekend. I sent 40 roses to be held by concierge and I dropped a barong with concierge (Kim). I asked her to hold onto the barong and the roses until around 6:30 PM b/c I would be proposing. Kim was working until 7 PM so bingo I had someone briefed who knew the plan. The staff at Spiral was great at table placement. I did all this the day before. So 6:30 PM I put the barong over my polo in the lobby. I was with two friends with cameras. Kim took the flowers down to Spiral and handed them to future wife then discretely stepped away. I did tell her to at least hang out to watch the fireworks. The plan kicked into actions. My friend's wife rushed over to the table asking, "Oh, it is your birthday?" Then she asked to hold the flowers and then stepped away with the bundle of flowers. 40 roses are hefty. So I came around the corner -- I picked a table that could not see restaurant entrance. I showed up. Dropped to a knee. My future wife was crying. Some waiters had been handed cameras to video tape and others were there to watch. So my future wife is crying, the wives of my friends are crying, the waiters are crying (maybe one was Jam -- good guy). Of course my future wife said, "Yes." The band was randomly playing, "Just Once" which ironically is a breakup song. The waiters burst into song at the chorus during the proposal. It was epically sweet. Shout out again to Kim. I was terrified the concierge would mistakenly deliver the flowers to my room. She followed the script perfectly.

Had a nice stay. The housekeeper Mai Manrique was excellent and took great care of our needs and is great with small children. Had a problem with the thermostat and maintenance replaced it within 30 minutes of being notified. Breakfast at Spiral was good. Overall a nice stay. Just wish the pool water was a little warmer like it was a year ago but aside from that no complaints. Try their shrimp gambas if you order room service, very tasty and comes with garlic rice.
