The hotel service was great and room very comfortable, but be aware that there is no car park and very few public car parking spaces in the centre of town. The hotel takes advantage of this by offering a $50 a day valet parking service. As we used the hotel stay to kick start our 5 day Milford Trail walk, this meant that the cost of our room was in effect more than doubled!

My Husband and I stayed at the hotel for 6 nights while visiting Queenstown. The hotel is quite central and has a great valet parking system for those days when we decided to tour. The valet and concierge staff are super friendly and helpful with tips on what to do around town and further a field. The staff at the hotel from the Reception, to Concierge, to Housekeeping and the wonderful staff in the Left Bank and Le Salon Rouge, they were all absolutely amazing. They are a tight knit and friendly team and it was a delight to meet so many of them. The staff were so welcoming that I felt like I was at home with family! Each of them took time to learn my penchant for sparkling water, latte and sweet corn fritters! I felt really cared for by all of the staff. The food was great, the service exceptional and the room was comfortable and very well maintained. Our breakfast favourite was the sweet corn fritters. We could choose from an extensive buffet or from the A La Carte menu. We were spoiled for choice. Of an evening, we thoroughly enjoyed the Club Lounge in Le Salon Rouge between 17…. The Apero Chic menu offered a great range of drinks and we enjoyed the Charcuterie, Fromage, Gold Digger and Canape platters over the six nights that we stayed there. In essence, I can easily sum up our experience at Sofitel Queenstown by saying that when I am old and retire, I think that I would like to live there! We loved it!

All staffs were very kind and attentive, felt very welcomed. However, hotel quite worn down, dirty armchair with ottoman, spotted a few stains on doona, couldn't bother to ask for change. Other than kind staff, didn't satisfy 5 star experience.
