Loved the location, easy for us to walk to many places or get metro. Nice selection of restaurants very close by. Front desk staff very nice and helpful. Room was very clean, comfortable but small. No noise in the hotel and didn't hear any outside noise which was great. Would definitely stay again while in Madrid.

What an awful experience it was to stay in this hotel. I booked this hotel on the basis of the excellent reviews and the pictures of the rooms on the Accor website... both are highly misleading. The room we were allocated for 4 nights (307) was truly bad and nothing like the picture on the website. We had a cracked shower base, rubbish on the floor (not ours) that stayed for days before it was cleaned, a rusty screw sticking out from the shower at leg level - which could cause serious injury if one were to brush against it - and perhaps most revolting of all, a piece of soap left in the shower from the previous occupant, which I had to dispose of myself. What was even worse was the air conditioning that came on with a clatter at any time of the day or night, and when it was not on there was a low level hum in the room, meaning there was no peaceful sleep all night. The windows are not sound proofed so you can hear street noise the entire night. I give this hotel two stars out of ten because the location was fine and the front desk staff were helpful, but in all other aspects it is really unsatisfactory. I wonder if the Manager has ever actually spent a night here, and if s/he would consider it to be a pleasant way to spend a night in a hotel. For me it was a resounding NO. What a poor reflection on the Accor brand.
