My friend is disabled and in a wheelchair. Easter Monday 2024, we had been to a music venue and decided to walk down to this hotel, as it was a good landmark to call a taxi from. My friend in the wheelchair needed the toilet, so we headed across to the front entrance. There was a gentleman at the door, who didn’t want to know, despite seeing my disabled friend in distress. We politely asked if we could use the toilet very quickly and that we would leave straight away but no. He even consulted the manager who was also working this night, and he said no. I appreciate the fact, that we were not paying guests but this is still pretty disgraceful! Shame on you!!!

We understand the urgency of the situation and how frustrating it must have been. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the inconvenience caused. Our hotel is currently closed to the public and while the building is secure, only authorized contractors are permitted on-site for safety reasons , which unfortunately limits access to our facilities, including the restrooms. The hotel is certainly not in a state to welcome guests at this time, and we are working diligently to reopen with improved facilities and, most importantly, a well-trained staff dedicated to exceptional guest service. In the meantime, we are reviewing our procedures to ensure such an incident doesn't happen again. Once again, I am truly sorry for the inconvenience and distress this incident caused you. Ok i didn’t actually stay at this hotel but I’m disabled and was waiting for a taxi and desperately needed the toilet (i have an over active bladder)so asked if i could just pop in to use it, flatly refused despite me showing them my disability card said had no disabled loo (thats bad in itself but i did say i can get out chair) still completely said no. Luckily i did make it home in time but unhelpful, completely disabled unfriendly, in this day and age that shouldn’t be a thing. Personally id give this hotel a miss who needs unfriendly staff.

Having a disability card should have prompted a more helpful and understanding response. Ibis Cancelled booking - no alternative offered

Booked this hotel well in advance (July 2022) for Springsteen concert. It took 2 months for the hotel to inform me that the confirmed booking was cancelled. This information came after the date the hotel closed, so very poor communication. I'm really disappointed that Ibis and the Accor group were very unhelpful and refused to rebook me into alternative accommodation at the price I had booked at. Obviously 2 months later prices had increased. I booked through Booking.com who were equally unhelpful. But I expected more for Ibis.

Not much to fault with this hotel. Clean room, friendly staff and right where I needed to be. It's about 2km from City centre and a long walk or a taxi ride if you are not familiar with Birmingham. I went for the football, as the stadium is just up the road. If you are not a football fan check the dates as the bar area can get a little lively on match days. Really good experience all round.

We paid for a hotel where we could sleep , I thought that that was the whole point in hotels. I understand that it is located right on a busy road, so we closed the windows to keep out the noise, but there is no air conditioning , that made the rooms very uncomfortable. When we finally dropped off to sleep we were woken up in shock by the fire alarms . When we dropped off from that we were woken up by a lady shouting, House keeping, as she entered the rooms in the corridor she allowed the doors to slam behind her. The carpets in the rooms were filthy as was the bathroom floor. The staff on reception were friendly and helpful. I asked for the adjoining door between our rooms to be unlocked as we were a family of 4.
