A wonderful holiday had at the Sofitel Denarau Island. Kids were kept entertained in the kids club each day whilst the adults went to Waitaui pool and bar. The whole team at Nui Kids Club have been fantastic with the kids- a big thanks to Rafa, Kitty, Millie, Ulai, Zac and many others who have made this holiday so special for my 2 boys. The room was kept beautiful by the housekeepers and laundress, Vilimarina did a wonderful job turning around our laundry on the same day each time. The pools were fabulous and always somewhere available to lounge by the water with a cocktail in hand. Will definitely be back!

We visited Nadi in Fiji. We stayed at the Sofitel resort. I have been to many resorts over the world but where the Sofitel resort and Fiji as a whole stands out is the people. They are genuinely warm and welcoming. Everyone at the resort made us feel special but I need to really mention Mary and Annie whose various exercise classes during our 7 day stay stood out. Mary came in on her day off to do a yoga class at 8am with us! Also a special mention to Rafa and Aunty Karen.

Lovely resort on Denarau Island with good restaurants offering plenty of choice and friendly staff.We chose to upgrade to the adults only Waitui Club as it was school holidays and also they offered a beautiful beach restaurant where we ate breakfast every day and also a pool area with swim up bar and great cocktails.

Overall we were not happy with our experience here. Upon leaving I had thought about contacting the hotel manager to share our feelings but you know what, the staff are all so chilled here and I didn't want to upset anyone so we just concluded our 8 day stay here in peace. It just feels like double the price of a top hotel in Phuket but like half the quality in food and experience. PROS - Excellent kids club, you can hand kids over like 9am-12pm and then 1pm-4pm and they have lots of activities. Affordable nanny service, we also used once or twice when we went out for date night dinner - Excellent gym, one of the best ive been to and we are very well travelled globally (shame about the 6am opening, 24H would have been better) - Adult only pool and dining options - Nice new renovation throughout the resort (with the exception of the main swimming pool floor, its still very rough and rocky and both me and family got cuts on our toes). CONS - The basic family rooms were very small. The bunkbed for my kds (8YO and 4YO) seemed like an afterthought. There is only a small table with 2 chairs so you basically cant eat in. After the 4th day of our 8 day here, we had cabin fever and wanted to go home - Directly put, the food in the hotel was overall mediocre. We tried all restaurants, the “room service”, the bars, Buffet every morning, some of the theme dinners, the food was overall very bland. Lovely staff and servers, but having frequented South East Asia resorts, this just pales. I have a separate review for their Vietnamese restaurant, we had a very very bad experience being served undercooked pork. - Housekeeping was a constant uphill battle and worst I’ve experienced. They constantly missed our room for service in the morning and then sometimes we’d have to call 4 times and wait hours in the afternoon to get basic room cleaning.
