While staying at the Mercure for work I was here for 6 weeks , The welcome was lovely and my room (603) was excellent and well appointed. The food choice was great in the bar and the restaurant with our themed buffets . The best part of our stay was the staff , all the staff were welcoming and friendly but a special mention to Naz and Patricia who were brilliant. A special mention has to go to Love who worked in the bar , her attitude and professionalism were a credit to her and the hotel . A bad day at work is put behind you when she smiles and welcomes you . A great employee and definitely destined for bigger and better things . Thank you Love .

Stayed here with work. Rooms are clean and comfy, but their main asset is the staff. Love behind the bar is a credit to the company. She’s attentive, efficient and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble and always served with a smile. She deserves a pay rise.

No Way Is it a 4 Star Hotel - Heating not working & Other Annoyances.

We had two rooms. In no way is this a 4 star hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff were great. Beds are super comfy.The issues with this hotel are outside the staff's control. There are no robes, slippers, hairdryer, iron in the room so not four star. The fan in the bathroom did not work which is a building regulation requirement. There are no main lights in the room only bedside lights. Why? The heater did not work and part of the front was broken off. Reception had to control it.We had three coffee capsules? There is one chair to sit although they were both double rooms. One room had a desk and no desk chair. The grout in the bathrooms is moldy and the sinks have seen better days. The carpets in the corridors are very old and the old suspended ceiling tiles are stained in places. The corridors and rooms were old and tired and need updating.The most annoying thing was the bathroom door which stuck on the sill which meant we had to force it open and closed. It is clearly an ongoing issues as the floor was worn away. It was also a large heavy door which opened into the tiny shower room. We paid more for an upgraded room where we could all sit but all we got was an extra amount of useless space with no lights or enough chairs even for two people to relax. Never used Mercure before and won't again.

We usually visit Bedford once a year and have previously stayed at the Bedford Swan. However, since refurbishing it the staff there and the management have become very rude. So we decided to give the Mercure a go and we didn't regret it. The hotel has a 70s retro feel about it and as seems to be the case with the Mercure brand it could do with some modernisation. That said, the staff were friendlier and best of all they had a sense of humour. Check in and check out was excellent and we felt welcomed. We were allocated a room on the ground floor. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean and the toilet had a fast flush. One problem we did encounter, was the air conditioning/heating wasn't working so it was quite chilly given that the weather was only in single digits centigrade. Breakfast was served in the first floor restaurant. I'm OK with stairs, but my wife isn't so I asked Nas if there was a lift and he showed me one which was tucked around a corner. I was surprised the main lift didn't stop on that floor? Anyway, it was only a minor issue. The breakfast was well cooked and there were hot and cold options. I guess it must have been very quiet at the hotel because on both mornings there wasn't anyone asking for our room number. We also had a light meal in the bar area. That was very enjoyable and the view across the river was lovely. It was rather chilly down there though and I had to keep my coat on. To sum up, the hotel didn't have the same services that the Swan had, but the staff were more welcoming and the rooms were more than adequate. We also found the seating in the breakfast room much better.

plusieurs problèmes : j'ai reçu un PV violation parking alors que j'ai bien enregistré mon véhicule à l'accueil cela ma couter des frais à l'agence de location ma carte de chambre de marché pas, après 4 changement de cartes elle ne fonctionnait pas La chambre n'était pas bien située (bruit, vue) par rapport à mon avant dernière chambre où j'avais vu sur la rivière
