I should preface this with the fact that it was the weekend of the AFL preliminary finals, so it was probably a bit busier than normal. We arrived at 2pm on a Saturday for a 2 night stay, but the room wasn't ready, so we walked to a nearby cafe for a coffee and it was only about 15 minutes before I received a call saying the room was now ready. We were assigned room 306, which was the type of room I had booked (an upgrade wasn't available as it was busy). Normally, as a Accor gold member, there is a welcome note and sometimes a gift, but there was neither. The light switches in the room are the newer push-button type are meant to light up when your hand is near them (so you can see the label). Some did and some didn't, which wasn't a big deal. But shortly after unpacking bags and relaxing while exploring the TV, all the lights switched off. Luckily it wasn't dark outside, so I could find the switch to turn them back on. Annoyingly, the switches next to the bed didn't light up until they were actually touched, which makes it difficult at night. And during the night I didn't need the switches to light up as all the lights came on randomly. Sometimes after a few hours, sometimes after 10 minutes. This happened about 4 times during the first night. In the morning (Sunday), I reported this to reception, who were concerned and said they would get it looked at. No offer of a room change. Later that day, all the lights switched off a couple of times. That night, again, the lights randomly all switched on a few times. When we checked out, I reported the random lights again. They were surprised and again said they would send someone to investigate. No offer of any compensation for 2 nights of disturbed sleep. Would I stay there again? Probably, but I wouldn't accept room 306 again!

Excellent staff. Awful room and exposed bathroom. Moved to "accessible room" for more space and privacy. A bit better. Seats far too low for elderly people. Had to request a dining chair for our room.

Overall our stay was great with a few hiccoughs. As platinum were not offered an upgrade which is unusual but we appreciated the hotel was busy. The breakfast was much appreciated and great food and staff but probably a bit middle-eastern focused for us. Our room was not cleaned on day 1 even when we put out the sign on the door, reception said it was on request. However when we requested it another receptionist said we didnt need to - very confusing! We asked every day anyway after that. They do a good job. On Grand Final eve and day our TV stopped working completely. The Irish guy/manager was fantastic in trying to fix it but to no avail. He was very kind and helpful but still no TV. He did manage to fix the room tablet which was also broken, by rebooting it. He was a friendly man and an asset to Accor. He also offered a room change (but we were at the Grand Final) and late checkout which was nice. Some of our room products were empty but this happens often at Accor hotels, after asking the bottles were topped up. Finally, halfway through our stay our flight home was cancelled to the day before. We booked 6 nights which we wanted to reduce to 5 nights. Your team rang reservations and this was approved for a day 6 refund. I think $212? Despite us paying in full in advance we have still not received this day 6 refund. So not the perfect stay (or result!) .. but overall we felt looked after. Thank you.

Spent 3 nights here. Very well located hotel close to many highly revered restaurants. A bit further from the theatre though only around a 15min walk. Bed was very comfortable. Blackout blinds did the job. Good sized shower and excellent water pressure. No bath tub. Only suggestion to the hotel is cushion pads on the toilet door so it closed more quietly, and a less sensitive night light sensor (it turns on when reaching for a glass in the middle of the night). Oh and breakfast was excellent. The burger ordered by room service was ok.

Great location for our week of planned activities. Room size was reasonable, and being able to access fresh air in a hotel is fantastic, although we didn't sit on the balcony and don't expect you would given the small size and lack of appeal. The cleanliness of the room was not of the standard that I would expect. Dusty, not well vacuumed, soft furnishing looked like it needed a freshen up. Lighting, especially in the bathroom not adequate. All staff were helpful and pleasant.

Largely a comfortable and clean stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The one issue was the ipad in my room almost never worked - it would glitch or wouldn't charge when on the dock which meant I couldn't order room service or contact reception.

Had a great stay at Hyde, reception were very accomodating. However the foyer is quite small, lots of people lined up either going to the rooftop or checking in. Hard to know who is waiting in line. Can get very busy there

Great staycation. Second visit to this hotel and it’s as I remember it. Service is consistent. Nice comfortable rooms and love the interior decor. Housekeeping was a little slow but it was a busy weekend.

The stay was pretty good. We stayed in the Horizon Suite, and the room was nice, staff were lovely, but I think the details were a bit missed. Robes were tattered, there was minimal amenity in the room, which I think seemed off for the quality of the hotel and the room.

Excellent location and close to the Bourke St Mall, Collins St etc. Pleasant enough staff but not overly engaged. Rarely an acknowledgement or smile even if you made eye contact coming and leaving the hotel. The suite room was very good. Large, nice Jardan furnishings, comfy bed, a balcony, tub bath, double basin and good separate shower and toilet. Great city view and sunny. Loved the colours and design. Showing some serious wear and tear though, walls badly scuffed and chipped, with a large gouge on the main sliding bathroom/room door ceiling. TBH, we found the room very noisy, hearing every conversation and doors closing from the foyer areas. Whilst this is inconsiderate patrons to a degree, the sound proofing can’t be very good. Gym was a small dark room in the basement, very much an after thought. Didn’t use the roof top but certainly looked good and a nice addition. Certainly a nice hotel but not really an amazing experience and I’d probably look elsewhere for my next stay.

A modern comfortable room. Roof top bar and restaurant wonderful. A great location, with easy walking to many attractions. Rooms are a little noisy on weekends due to poor sound proofing and surrounding night clubs. Overall a good stay.

Far too noisy from outside venues. Loved the room but did not get much sleep due to the noise. Plus, charging extra on our breakfast for bacon/hash brown/mushroom, totally outrageous. Should have at least 2 items to go with the eggs at no extra cost.

Fantastic customer service, friendly and fun. Great rooms - except for the lack of direct lighting options. Nearly impossible to apply makeup once the sun was set.
