Well located, friendly staff

Overall visit was good , rooms were clean, bathroom were nice and breakfast is very good. We booked a family deal with 2 rooms, and after some shuffling we got the 2 rooms very close together, so that was good. Unfortunately on the second night, 2 other people entered one of our rooms because of a mistake at check-in at the front desk, where a typo error activated their key on the wrong floor, causing our room key to be de-activated and their key to enter our room. Even though the incident was quickly resolved, it does show a big validation check failure, as here a human error was not spotted by the check-in system. I would expect that if a key for a room is activated, and an active key is already available, the system would at least show a warning if this is really what needs to happen. Instead the system should have warned the check-in personnel, that you are about to de-active a key and activate a new key for a room. That could have easily prevented this. In the morning, the incident was discussed in detail with the staff and compensation was offered pro-actively, which was good. However, I am expecting the incident to be used as a use case by the system developers of the check-in software, that would prevent this from happening again. I was quite surprised that a simple human error was not spotted by the system.

Hotel is well located, convenient easy access to public transportation. Reservation, check in/out was uncomplicated & seamless. Grateful for the upgrade for all our rooms. Staff were friendly, welcoming & helpful. Our rooms (11th floor) were beautiful, spacious & very clean. Comfortable beds, room temperature was perfect. Bathrooms were very clean, toiletries were of good quality, Food & beverage outlets have a lovely interior & a welcoming atmosphere. A very good (delicious) selection of food & drinks at the bar & breakfast buffet.

Poor Sleep

I complained to female receptionist who shrugged away my disappointment. The apparently refurbished room now has a light movement sensor in the bedroom, above the kettle. Having paid extra for a dog friendly room, you can guess what kept triggering this daft idea. I eventually got through to the porter who came up in the wee hours and used pieces of tape as a fix. I’m not happy as had business to do in the morning and was very tired.

We apologize for the disturbance caused by the light movement sensor in your room. We understand how important a good night\'s sleep is, especially when you have important business to attend to in the morning. While our newly refurbished rooms are designed to enhance guest comfort, it seems the sensor placement did not achieve this in your case. Furthermore, we regret the inconvenience experienced due to the dog-friendly accommodations not meeting your expectations. We aim to provide a welcoming environment for all our guests, including our four-legged friends, and we will review your comments to improve our service. Regarding the coffee machine issue, we understand the frustration that a wait can cause, especially when looking forward to a warm cup of coffee.
